Just finished a game with them, I really like their tree although I think I wanted something more climatic for the ending. Due to my lack of aggression and the game slowing down as it gets later the story tends to drag in the later portion, even if I liked it. Seeing Royan come back was cool.

Mainly Lizardmen and Gnolls but added a bunch of stuff to Cannor as well and some new notable mission trees like Zokka which got a tree written by the same guy who did Newshire and Masked Butchers. It's a bit similar to Masked Butchers, a monstrous conquest nation but this time an apocalyptic threat with Zokka's plan to eat the sun.
Ravelianism spawns earlier now so some MTs have been sped up and Regent Court is even more fucked if you don't go out of your way to preserve it.
Apparently Harpies and Merfolks have new mechanics but I haven't had the time to check them out.
Next update the dark trolls or whatever their called are finally getting content and their own unique government mechanics and UI, which I'm looking forward to. Anyways if you want to see all the changes check out the link.

Well that's if the Command doesn't blob into the Forbidden Planes first, but I think all of the regions are pretty isolated, Anbennar is broken up into these distinct gameplay regions in a way EU4 just isn't due to Eu4 being constrained by real geography.
The choke points into and out of the planes also exist in other regions. Escann and Cannor are probably the least isolated regions compared to everywhere else.

You really shouldn't, they're a non subterranean race meaning they'll debuff your dwarf hold provinces if you still have them.
In place of that they have their own mechanics about burning down holds to the ground in order to make a big fuck off pile of money in their capital that gives them buffs.

This harpy talk reminds me of a game I had a few months ago as Bianfang where a royal marriage from my vassal immediately gave me a harpy consort at the start of the game, then I lucked out into a 6/6/6 daughter and steamrolled the early game into an eternal harpy dragon empress dahui. Semifire is the only harpy tag at game start with no mission tree though, and if they got one it would be the only p'zerangi tree with their own, since the other one gets the xia tree. Moonhaven is kinda like vanilla Netherlands or Portugal in terms of gameplay, you just sit in your ass and colonize the shit out of the new world and other regions while barely expanding in the homeland. Idk if it's good for tutorial though, haven't played it.
Venail is a good start, it leads you into a massive wide campaign that would last until at least the 1700s, but it's MT is pretty old and mainly consists of "conquer this, conquer that" missions.

Personally I think that someone new to anbennar but experienced with eu4 should try the dwarves as the first campaign. You can try Asra expedition into Khughihr or Haraz Orldhum or whatever it's called for example

Also Verne kinda explains the lore of the whole world in their MT, but the new MT is pretty fucking extensive and requires you to basically conquer half of the world

Yes, in fact that's how you play them early game (consolidate your starting infantry when they take losses until they get to 1k soldiers, then disband). You want to do that because Elves suck at manpower recovery, and your government interaction gives free cavalry units

Third time playing this mod (played Verne and Corintar earlier, made an unfinished AAR about the later), decided to play as the Jaddari. I'd say I'm having a more fun time than when I was playing as Corintar. Some thoughts:
>Early game
I like how quickly everything escalates. You defeat the gnolls and immediately have to deal with Sareyand (I chose to fight them), the moment you deal with them, you have to deal with Dasmatuš. Got the dwarfs and harpies as subjects, proceeded to mostly focus on the west from that point on.
>Bulwar conquests
For the most part, these went fine for me, just conquer shit and spend a few years dealing with overeхtension. Perhaps the biggest issue I'm encountering is Birzartanšes. Since they were to be my vassal (per the focus tree), I tried avoiding conflict with them, but it eventually became unavoidable when I had to fight with them over some harpy lands. So, they rivaled me shortly after, I made them a vassal via war, and now they are being more of a problem than I could've imagined. I'm considering just breaking the vassalisation and manually conquering them, because there's no way I'd get their opinion over even a 100, as the AE and heretic modifiers are pure pain. Oh, and they have a core on durklum, some random province on the other Bulwar that they never owned, I own it and don't really have a way to grant it to them.
>The east
I feel I got involved too late, 'cause the Command has pushed hard into the Raj. The actual wars there were surprisingly easy.
>Other stuff
The mission tree is nice, no bullshit requirements so far. got greatly eхpanded when I formed the Empire.
For the other jadd-anon, yes, it's pure cavkino in the early game, you get a 100 cav-to-inf ratio at the start of the game, but it seems it drops down quite a bit when you form the Empire.
I think I fucked up that mission which converts a bunch of provinces, since all the suncult states reconverted them. Fault's on me here.

Birz is a trap, by the type you're in a position to subjugate them, they'll fucking despise you from all the AE, and you want their capitol because one of their first missions gives a modifier (that carries over regardless of owner) that gives max governing capacity percentage

When I subjugated the dwarfs (verkal specifically), they had only 5 or so provinces. They're an autonomous vassal for now, they've recently started to show less loyalty, but still.
Bir' already despises me kek, -145 opinion modifier from AE, plus they still follow the New Sun Cult, so that's another -40. (oh, and they still haven't completed the mission I think you're referring to, should I invest in their capital?)
I got pretty close to forming the Holy Corintar Empire, pretty sure all I had to do was build a couple of forts. Last screenshot I have from that campaign in picrel.

You have to own everything in these regions to form Castanor, and to have accepted the patricians as an estate. It's by far the biggest MT in the mod (in terms of filesize at least)

Yep, it's the "centralize the administration" mission, gives 10% gov cap. There's also the monument in Sareyand that gives 20% gov cap at it's max, and a free admin policy if you put it as your capitol
