What are some citybuilders with military? I love stuff like the impressions games because you get to build a city and then fight inside of it. Just citybuilding by itself is boring.
>>2318372Tried Grand Ages Rome or one of the new-ish Settlers? Fairly comfy and surprisingly holds up graphically. Also there's anno.
Citadelvm is really fucking good, its designed after Zeus and Poseidon but with modern graphics and QoL
>>2318372OP makes me think of Rebel Inc., where you (re)build a region in kind of an abstract way while fending off an insurgency. Personally, I hated both the repetitive civic aspect and the whack-a-mole combat, though.
>>2318385>citybuilders
>>2318372Anno series
>>2318372Manor lords, never played it tho
>>2318470Love anno but everything except naval warfare is a meme
>>2318507well combat in pax romana looks alright. of course havent tried it cuz of cucknuvo yetanyway, check out rebel inc escalationplays like plague inc
>>2318656rebel inc is not a citybuilder and also not even a good game. it's nothing like the Impressions city builders OP is looking for
>>2318674let op decide what he wants to do, janny
>>2318740decide to neck yourself, dumb bitch
>>2318740rebel inc is a dogshit whack-a-mole "game" and not /vst/ or a city builder. Fuck off you stupid shitter dev.
Foxhole, maybe? You can build a frontline fortress and then witness it getting smashed by the enemy team.
>>2318372Songs of Syx is okay. There are also Manor lords and Farthest Frontier, but the combat in either is rather basic.

>>2318372Dawn of Man has this but a lot of people complain that it has little replay value. There are workshop mods that make the difficulty super hardcore and almost impossible to finish a full game in though
>>2318794You can't because it's a MMO and people with 15000 hours in the game will teamkill and mass report you if you place one sub-optimal building. Even trying to learn in the backlines will get your shit raided because the genius gameplay mechanic mean that things built by different people passively increase upkeep for everyone and because it's a PVP game the difference between a new player and an alt-account made for griefing is basically non-existant for old players.
>>2318794>Foxhole>You can buildmore like you can get mass reported and griefed by your side. One of the worst and most cancerous communities in any game ever

>>2323267I wish SimCity games had more military stuff. Not combat, I grew up near a military base and so I always imagined the ability to build various stuff you'd find on post.Really wish that Soviet city builder game had stuff like that. I just want to watch tanks and infantrymen train.
>>2326299You can have fun in correct clans if you go around in groups so you have buddies to support you in the inevitable gang warfare between members of your own faction but correct clans are basically extinct, you'll have to bring your own friend group. There's a chance 4chan rats will try the game a bit for the planes update but I wouldn't hold my breath. Outside of that your options are social parasites like furries, trannies, e-celeb cliques and everpresent mass clans like DKoK that make life actively unpleasant for everyone around them as a recruitment method.
>>2326361Download some military vehicle mods and start churning out gear. It's my usual late game goal to get a tank factory running and then export entire battalions at a time on train cars, bonus points for including all the support vehicles too. I've also made factories churning out MiG-21s and for longest time I wanted to make a shipyard in the taiga building nuclear submarines but haven't got around to it just yet.

>>2326399I just wish it was an actual mechanic where you had to deal with Western cold war aggression with military exercises and air patrols. No combat, you act like a cold war eastern bloc country.
>>2318372Manor Lords and the Stronghold seriesIt's a genre on its own but it's basically limited to these two titles.
>>2326414Combat isn't even impossible, Soviet Republic is built on top of a Mi-24 flight sim that had air, ground and naval militafy units shoot each other, they could try and do something with that.
>>2326437does stronghold actually have city building in the sense that you have to build a proper town instead of scattering buildings randomly like the usual RTS game?
>>2326507Well, no. Not really.Manor lords does though.
>>2326508ok. i've had people suggest stronghold a couple times but i think they consider any castle building RTS game to be a city builder
>>2326511Well it's because you have building chains and actually have to take a little care of your pop.
>>2326507How is it possible you never played stronghold?
>>2326502I don't think it should be impossible or is impossible, I just emphasize that because I don't want people to go>why would you want combat in comfy Soviet city builder game?I don't, I want comfy Cold War military stuff. I want to see MIGs patrolling the border, tanks doing exercises, and infantrymen being bored on base. And various production chains related to that.Anno 1800 actually has a good mod related to this that lets you build a whole military encampment.
>>2326516i'm a zoomer
>>2326522Grim. Well, you missed out.
Shadow Empire but it's hard to get into (horrible UI).I really wish Civ had a more interesting warfare system.
>>2326204>>2326297>play it a few years ago>all guys shouting random war cries from their respective nations as we charge out of a trench and all got mowed down>try it again a few months ago>ten clan members micro managing everybody and getting into fights with peopleI just walked off and went partisan and got myself killed after twenty minutes. Tempted to try it again though, probably going to be just as lame.
>>2326521>hold military parades>the gear you build determines the amount and types of unitsThat would be cool

>>2326204>>2326297Let me guess: you went to a base built by others and without bothering to learn even the basics of the game mechanics, started building/digging some most low IQ dogshit stuff and essentially griefed your own team by your ignorance. Then you failed to communicate with others and got told to fuck off and l2p. Then due to your autistic main character syndrome you got really mad without even trying to understand what happened. Many such cases.
