Wardogs in the main game when
>>2326905Hopefully never
first for coolest unit in the game
>>2326883Why do you hate TheGhostmaster? What exactly is your problem? There already is a thread, post there.
>>2326922Fuck off pajeet shitposter. You made that thread malliciously
Another day another chinese player cheating on the ladder. Clearly there's been some new hack distributed over there.
>>2326972>pvpwhy do you do this to yourselves
>>2326982I'm playing with a full team of friends
>guy wearing feathers and not much else>tanky unithow
>>2326883>buy a $900 computer to play aoe4 because I felt i was "too late" into aoe2>actually the game feels like shit to play>thought it was gonna be easier to learn due to not having to do micro lot of micro shit early like walling in feudal>turns out instead of walling your base you just die at any rush as a noob>constantly out of resources despite following build orders>lack of basic QoL like seeing exclusively how many villagers you have in your entire pop despite being the newer game>no drop off key>no "you're about to be housed" sound and the housed sound is barely noticeable>miss hard aoe2 despite not having that many hours on it>install again>have a lot of fundid I fell hard for a reddit meme of "aoe4 is a lot more casual friendly"? I only play rts pvp exclusively btw
>>2327577>Listening to Reddit>Ever
i hope they buff handcannoneers when the new dlc comes out
How fucked is my computer if it turned off all of the sudden while playing the Thoros campaign.
>>2326883What the fuck is wrong with youPlease don't split an already slow general>>2326313>>2326313>>2326313
>>2328898the other OP is some jeet-obsessed shitposter posting other people's screenshots as his own
Can we please call this thread /aoe2g/?
>>2328978Everyone talks about Age2 because its most active but it cna still be used for 1, 3, 4, Mythology, and Online
>>2328966and? You're a woman or something? Why do you care?
>>2329024>implying
>>2329168>Why do you care? Why YOU care so much to post other people screenshoots that are not yours?
>>2328898>already slow generalThis is probably one of the fastest threads in the board lately, specially with the upcoming civs speculation
>>2331086I didn't post it, take your meds. I just asked a simple question
>>2331091>I didn't post itSure you didn't, jeetposter
>>2331132>jeetposterAFAIK that's TheGhostmaster. You're confusing me with a lot of people.
>>2331150You being this obsessed with TheGhostmaster is kinda funny ngl
This is the only good AoE2 thread desu
Clowning the clowner
Might as well post it twiceYou ARE supporting ACCM this wololo, right? AoE2 is a millenial game.
>>2331898I'm supporting Liereyy and Sebastian
>>2331901why
>>2331905Cuz I like Liereyy and I will support my fellow southamerican Sebastian
PROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
act like a dautthink like a viper
>>2331898i'm only ever against hera, no matter what, i just want him to lose.
>>2326896> pre colonial America> mounted unit
>>2332862Based devs saying new world colony era indians are the same as medieval armies
>>2332852that sucks rooting against the guy who won't stop winning
>>2332862because the mapuche are relevant for fighting the spanish and its more of a unique identity than the other infantry/archer civ
>>2332862Justified in this specifric case, the Mapuches DID steal the Spaniards gimmick, tamed horse relatively quickly and used against themAlso it's not like it was exclusively of them, northamerican plains natives also did extensive horse usage against colonizersAlways remenber horses are already tamed, not really hard for natives with a lot of contact with the wild to easily tame them, and in places with extensive plains, it's a very logical thing to do.Amazon, Andes and Centeramerica natives were the exception of the horse rule as far as I know
>>2332862>pre colonial Americathey represent post-colonial americans actually
>>2332862El Condor Pasa smiles upon them...
DLC prepatch when
>>2339838Noob
I'm just tired of DLCs desu
>>2340343I dont really mind buying dlcs for this game but there are too many civs
AoE2 is great, but I went back and played the age of kings campaign for the first time since I was a kid, and holy fuck does the campaign in this game glaze muslims. Muh peaceful, advanced and intelligent muslims being attacked by backwards Christian barbarians!!! Was this really necessary? Id understand portraying both sides as morally grey but it straight up depicts islam as a bringer of knowledge and civilization and Christians as barbarians.
>>2340507>Id understand portraying both sides as morally greyit straight up says that toward the end the saracens start turning into exactly the monsters the christians made them out to be (as a direct result of the violence between them)but also reynald really was just a freak like that
>>2340507It's not just the age of kings campaign either, el cid is more of the same.
>>2340507Every campaign is based from the perspective of the civ you are playing, so they are going to glaze themselves and talk about how awful the enemy is. Also the victors wrote the history books.
AoM just introduced the myth-tech Thorned Walls which allow walls to deal damage to nearby melee units. Like Orc buildings in warcraft 3.That's the sort of technology I was expecting for the Tupi or another civ (like when people spam Polynesians).Something that takes a mediocre building they are limited to, and makes it a nasty suprise for people who aren't paying attention.
>>2340763>allow walls to deal damage to nearby melee units. Like Orc buildings in warcraft 3.Nearby melee units or melee units attacking it? Because the first is closer to the demon hunter's immolation than spiked barricades.
>>2340763Does it have any visual effects in AoM? It might be the scale of War3, as Age2's buildings are relatively small in comparison, meaning there'd be a LOT more spike-added visual effects, but it is quite clear to players if Spiked Barricades is active
>>2340763That couldve been an upgrade to the palisade walls that costs a bit of stone instead of having stone walls directly
>>2340507>>2340570El cid is the worst. The Muslim imams teach the backwards European priests about religion and science, this is literally how the game describes it. I think western libs mistake the Persian Islamic golden age for all of islam under the arabs. It's literally a warrior cult founded by a warlord that took child brides, their "golden age" was nothing without Persian knowledge.
When is the next sale? I wanna get some 4 DLCs
>>2341049>The Muslim imams teach the backwards European priests about religion and science, this is literally how the game describes it.This actually happened, though. Notice that we use fucking Arabic numerals for math. Arabic alchemists played a big role in setting the foundations for later European alchemists to start inventing something we might recognize as science. I could go on.>imageOkay, now let’s see the map of battles of Christian conquest, such as the Reconquista and the Northern Crusades and the Saxon wars.
>>2341225Arabic numerals greatly simplified the process but Europe was doing just fine with roman numerals. Laughable concept that muslims invader "civilized" the christians, give me a break.
>>2341225>Notice that we use fucking Arabic numerals for math. Arabic alchemists played a big role in setting the foundations for later European alchemists to start inventing something we might recognize as science. I could go on.The Muslims temporarily preserved European knowledge from classical Antiquity, before the inbreeding fucked their gene pool.
>>2341366The true aryans?!
>>2341433The arab golden age always was kidnapping Persians and converting them with Islam so that they could have access to Mediterranean information
>>2341505>converting with>persians in the mediterraneanYour are borderline retarded and should be banned from ever accessing the internet
>>2341505>always wasLearn to spell before attempting to belittle Arab achievements, loathsome subhuman goblino
>>2341290Astronomy, Al-geebra, the scientific method, modern medicine, chemistry, optics, etc and etc... were NOT """preserved knowledge"""Not only judeochristian euroaches belittle Muslim achievements many of them outright stole them and erased the actual innovator from the credits
>>2341549Guess they were seething about arabs making progress in all fields while they kept VGH'ing about how Rome was the pinnacle of Europe and they couldn't reach the same level of greatness because "muh barbarians"
This is the Muisca wonder.
>>2341565It's cool
>>2342039it's a latrine. Their biggest cultural achievement is a big latrine
>>2341565Humble, but I like it
>>2342070>latrineBased, Pajeets could never
>>2342070it's the fucking sun temple dipshit
>>2342458my apologies, first world historically relevant nations make an effort not to make their temples look like a designated villager shitting spot
>>2341565At least is a building that existed, unlike the Tupi and Mapache wonders which is their generic huts sitting atop a hill/waterfall.
>>2341553
>>2341049The spread of Islam brought about the end of the Dark Age in Europe. If Islam had not tried to bring their faith to Europe then Europeans would have remained like Sub-Saharan Africans for another 1000 years.
idgas about longer queues anymore, make a ladder exclusively for arabiaim tired of all these meme maps and having to close the game from the steam library
should i preorder the DLC? i really want to play as my ancestors, but usually the DLCs are always bugged at launch
>>2344995Not saying it WON'T be bugged at launch but the water rework at least was even used in tourneys and none of the new civs introduce completely new mechanics other than the gechua healing so it should be ok.
>>2344995I pre-ordered, I will just play the campaigns at the first days after launchBugs matter less when you are playing by yourself
>want to play rts with people>1v1 one friend>i stomp him, no competition>1v1 other friend>he stomps me, no competitionpain
>>2344995>supporting microslop
>>23450852v1 other friend with one friend
>Black over dark background>Try to play the first Mapuche mission only to crash to desktopLmao
>Female monksLmaoYeah that checks out
>>2345517>he would rather play with a christian/muslim monk that diddles little kids than a qtpie mapuche girl
>>2345551If it matters, I hate both parties.
Meme potential
>start game>instantly get all achievements for the new dlcbased devs, won't ever have to buy this garbage to 100% the game
Multiplayer results so far?
>First mission is a risk-style oneHell yeahThe voice acting is really bad though.
>all the negative reviews are about achievements
>>2345731i play all the campaigns in hardest difficulty available by default, so i would get pissed if i cant get the achievement properly
damn im 1400, played the first mapuche campaign and i got my ass kickedi dunno if im rusty for not playing ranked in 6 months or that difficulty is actually challengingim excited now
>>2345775>They send Archers, Conquistadors, Hand Cannoneers, Knights, Long Swordsmen and Spearmen against the player, and may also deploy Battering Rams and Mangonels as the scenario progresses. Use your settlements and skirmmax, make monks to convert knights and swordsmen, use the enemy units you convert/your own siege to destroy siege
I love a well executed ram push
>>2345775Literally just wall up, spam towers and garrison towers with archersMake 1 mangonel per chokepoint and you winLegendary difficulty btw
>>2345617how is this not patched yet
>>2345617>start game>didnt get all achievementsman did i miss it....
why even have this tab if i have to replay the entire level in order to choose anything different
>>2345788i dont want to sound like a pedantic asshole -which probably i am anyways and i own it- but im chilean and brown: i bought this DLC to HUMILLIATE the Spanish. So no, im not walling and making towers, i am taking all the villages and killing these assholes.I will try again tomorrow when im ready for it
>settlements just use the mining camp sound
>>2345860...?Settlements have an entire new sound, what you are on about
>>2345865i'm literally placing them in the editor right now and they just use the mining camp soundwhat the fuck
>>2345867>EditorTry playing the campaign and click on the settlement, you should be able to hear the new sound
>>2345874that was where i first heard itidk maybe if i reload my game it'll be fixed
for combat elephants should i go armor first or bloodlines first?
>>2345941If if you're facing pikes or knights, bloodlinesif you're facing crossbows or plan to raze defensive buildings, get armorHusbandry is also important, but more important if you're facing crossbows or monks
>>2345857El Chileno menos raro del board
The insult "boludo" came from the bolas riders, and it's used to call out someone on their retarded naivety, in this case, a bunch of indios fighting gunpowder with paleolithic weapons.
>>2345959Then why are gauchos famous for it when the rest of the cowboy world gets revolvers?
>>2345959Boludo and Pelotudo are such widespread used words but I never really questioned it's originsI know the origin of the word Carajo at least
>notice update is out>read the new civs' tech trees>muisca - herbalism: makes archers and champi move fasterSo the Colombian civ has a unique tech where you use cocaine? Because that's the Colombian herb that makes you faster, right?
Its up https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pXOuiqHY0EE>>2345959i dont know why Argentinians clench or even talk about the mapuches so much: every single relevant part of history and war of the Mapuche happened in Chile, every hero was born there, and the spaniards and argentinians never gave a single fuck about them because the VERY few mapuche who crossed the Andes always went for to get pastures for their cattle for a few months before coming back to Chile. The argentinians only use them to pretend they have some kind of glorious native past or to pretend they had to conquer their absolute empty wasteland nobody gave a fuck about 500 years ago.
>>2345971its an old ass insult and malones were a problem all over the southern cone
>>2345971>i dont know why Argentinians clench or even talk about the mapuches so muchWe don't. I don't know what gives you this impression.t. ArgentinianBoludo is a funny insult however, hard to not use it
>>2345970Oh, but the Tupi can't have cannibalism in their tech tree, right FE?
how come i never see burmese elephants
>>2346036Because Arambai and Monks exists
>>2346004Biggest let down of this DLC
>>2345965too lazy to load gunpowder
>>2345788LEGENDARY victory for India
When in doubt just spam gorillon castles lmaoBolas Riders really hard counter Spanish
So the champi warrior line is OP (especially the muisca one) but falls off in imp. The blackwood arches are OP but falls off in imp as well. Settlements are strong af.Also did they nerf the incas just to make the other champi civs more pay to win? The food discount is far weaker than 15% recovered from dead units.
>>2345941armor always, get bloodlines absolutely last, giving +20 hp to a unit that already gets like 200 hp is nothing. armor then attack, get husbandry/first attack earlier if against monks and bloodlines absolutely last.
Swedes and Danes (Vikings split) will be the next DLC, according to investigators on the Aoe2 forum (also posted on reddit).I hope it happens.
Tarascan civ Archer/BlacksmithCan train Arblasts in Castle AgeHarvests from shore fish 50% fasterOutposts give +1 range to ranged units within LoSUU: Keriti (Plumed Archer but Mayan get Skirmisher UU instead)Castle UT: Trade Network - Trade Carts and Trade Cogs gain +1 gold for every Blacksmith tech researchedImperial UT: Infantry Blacksmith Attack upgrades gives 50% Attack bonus to Ranged unitsTeam Bonus: Towers cost 5 less stone
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-JoXW0UxvB8great well-thought out dlc once again, cysion
Heh.Feels slightly unsatisfactory.
>>2346120Or maybe a split + Frisians or Saxons?
Anybody have a list of new factions added to Age of Empires Definitive Edition in the order they were added?Mostly want to know the ones added between "Chronicles Battle for Greece" and "Chronicles Alexander the Great".
>>2345551for me it's the Rabbi screwing over everyone
>>2346210That would be the 3 Kingdoms, Khitans, and Jurchen
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F4Q6LK5fBb8Ornlu interview with the FE devs about the new DLC
>>2346149What would satisfy you?
>>2346352thank you! wish you could sort the faction icons by "time added" when you pick one.or rather, make it sort by "age" to play on the game's title.
>>2346357does he ask any actual questions or is he just licking corpo boot the entire hour?
>>2346004>What's the unit refund
>>2345551I like historical accuracy so female pajés grinds my gears.
>>2341565>Muisca: actual wonder, no actual fort (castle)>Mapuche: actual fort, no actual wonder>Tupi: get neitherNothing remains for the brazilian.
>>2341049Retarded post. There were crusades in Iberia, Balkans, Central Europe, Baltics, etc.
>>2346564Look at the comments and you'll get an idea.
>>2346588>eating humans gives you wood and gold
So the Muisca are snorting coke to go on a high speed murdering frenzy while the Tupi are eating the corpses of their fallen comrades. Metal as fuck DLC
>>2346624You can either reuse their weapons and clothing or sell them for goods.
>>2346624well those humans are made from food and gold so yeah
>>2346608>actual fortNah, that's an inca building, whose expansion ended around the Maule river. The mapache never built anything more complex than their straw longhouses and earthen forts. The tupi castle is a VERY creative interpretation of pic related.>>2346624>eating humans gives you woodCalm down, /d/
>>2346641
>>2346632>Nah, that's an inca buildingyeah but it’s an inca building the mapuche occupied and used isnt it?
>>2346654It’s like the Tagut don’t get included because the Khitian took them over after they got driven out of the eastern territory.
>>2346657it’s the same premise as the huns castlethey didnt build castles so their castle is a castle they stole from somebody elsei have no idea what this has to do with the tanguts getting shafted
>>2346632>Nah, that's an inca buildingAn inca fortification, case in point.
>>2346657Not what happened at all. The tanguts were chilling in their own little corner until they decided to kill a mongol envoy.
ok here is my million dollar ideastylites as a monk tower that converts units that get in range
>>2346660They go their UU and wonder coopted into the Khitian as the Western Liao were Khitian ruling over the surviving Tangut.Rather than the main Khitian-Chinese empire of the Eastern Liao.
>finally reach +1100 elo>proceed to lose 6 games in a row and back into low 1000sok you piece of shit garbage game, i get it, i wasnt 1100 worthy and just experienced a matchmaking flukedoes anyone here have any tips to escape 1000 elo hell? I've been here for months
I still find funny how the new architecture set is the four disparate civs rolled into one, that's economical. Hell, even the new regional guy looks like he belongs to one of the four civs with each upgrade.
>>2346765Similar thing with the Africans having mostly Malian architecture but in imperial at least you can see a little bit of Ethiopian architecture. Or how the Asian set has a Shinto gate on the monastery and mostly just looks Japanese. Or this official Burmese preview, pic related, using what to me is clearly the kamakura daibutsu from Japan, representing Amida Buddha who isn't even worshipped by the Burmese. This kinda thing is hell for autists who care about this stuff.
So if I got this right:Mapuches = Plains nativesTupi = Jungle nativesMuisca = Mountain natives
>>2346758make villsclean up your build ordercant really give good advice cuz i dont know what you are doing wrong without a rec and i have very little to work off, just try perfect the basics.also spent your res quickly and dont over queue units.
I can tell I will be spamming gorillon towers in this campaign>>2346769My god now I remenber the silly idle sword stance of 2handers back in the original version of the gameThat and skirmishers always holding their javelins up
>>2346564
>>2346856
>>2345941always armor
>>2346564>>2346856>>2346857Yeah, it's an ad masquerading as an interview
Blackwood archers are incredibly powerful, the DoT stacks so hard it becomes pretty much an instakill, not too different from compbowmen
>>2346120this is not going to happen because vikings is an aoc civ
>>2346120
>>2346933They die to siege so easily though.
>>2346765I think hey used Hearttt as model of how a South American bicep looks like.
>53.5% of players have the destroy a ship with a melee unit>Only 9.6% have the raze 200 buildings with TarkansUh, I would have assumed the first one would be rarer. I got the second by the third Attila mission
ever since phosphorus came around there are lots of wannabees trying to be the next phosphorus and going for cheese stratsplay meta or dont play ranked at all, this is so boring man
Brutal, was a slog of a mission, once again carried by Blackwood Archers>>2347361>play meta or dont play ranked at allSpoken like a true metaslave, damm the people that dont want to repeat the same thing for the 5439857939th time and try something new
no fucking way 4chan now forces me to disable ublock to post
How viable is it now FC conq and use donkeys to gather every relic while conqs keeps enemy in base and snowball?>>2347373Same. Won't. Blue Clover is forever.
>>2347376im pretty sure donkeys cant pick up relics, thatd be busted
>>2347392>he lacks critical information:)
>>2347397yea i got 500 hours and i still dont know how every civ works
>>2347376Conqs are so OP and extremely opressive in castle age you can make anything work in that stage of the gameSo the answer is yes, it doesn't matter, you're getting carried by conqs regardless
>>2347399>i still dont know how every civ worksBrother it LITERALLY said in the most recent patch notesApply yourself
Anyone enjoying the extended dark age champi battles?
>>2347412I have not had anyone do this to me yet, though if you small wall your lumber camp and goldmine you should be fine, you don't even need gold if your going scouts
>>2347412Nobody has done this to me but I've done it to a few people, they are broken like making scouts in dark age.
>>2347376It was already meta before the patch
>>2347361Get fucked metaslave, queuing up right now to phospheru just to spite you.
>>2347454But not with Missionaries.
>>2347403even hera has opened the fucking techtree in tourneys kekthis is why i dont understand people who want the devs to keep adding civs, theres a shit ton of content already that would take 1000s of hours to experience
>>2347458I just want a Vikings split, that's it. Then no more civs. Remove the 3K civs too.
>>2347458Civ bloating will continue until the meme list becomes real
>>2347462Saw some schizo-posting about an Easter egg scandinavian flag in the dlc patch notes. Gives me hope
