War in Spain is out now. Anyone played it? Is it a prototype for War in the Mediterranean or a WitP2?
RTFM. No, seriously. They openly say they want (they admit they probably won't pull it off, but still) to make 50ish titles with it. V1 and V2 rules are already in and modding-accessible. War in Europe certainly is on the menu (probably not soon and after several games to iron out kinks in the new engine)
>>2327957I'm now interested I want to kill fascists and communist traitors
>>2327957I'll be trying it out over the next couple of days and let you know what I think
>>2329928Ive never played War in the Pacific but based off what i've seen and what im seeing with this I cant help but feel like using the WitP engine instead of the WitE2 engine would be a mistake for WiE. I have a hunch they want to use the WitP because it already has naval code in it. I've heard they are being extremely anemic towards WiE because they would have to code in a naval system and after the air system in WitE2 they're really not feeling having to do another huge undertaking like that.
>>2330613>>2329928I mean im not trying to roast but this shit looks like it should've been released in 2006. It would be a step backward to have WiE be based off this.
>>2327957User interface design is my passion.
>>2330613It's also probably because they're the guys who made WitP AE, that's a different studio. And I'm not really sure it'd be a mistake, it'd be a design choice. A mistake would be making it 5 NM per hex, nobody is *that* autistic.UI and graphics in general could indeed use an improvement, though. That's less hard than unhardcoding shipbuilding, putting in war exhaustion, at least (I'm not really sure why the strategic chimpout aka "dehousing" (civilian casualtymaxxing) is supposed to work in the bomber's favor, but it does).
I know people hate WitW but I just love strategic bombing so damn much no one could ever make me hate it
>they'd have to code naval warfare into the WitE2 engine for WiEOh no! If Gary doesn't want to do his fucking job I'm sure there are others out there who would do if
>>2327957>literally just a board game in digital form>just a bunch of scripts doing some math>poorly built in an unwieldy ass of a custom engine for no reason or benefitWhy are wargamefags like this?
>>2335892>literally just a board game in digital form Based>just a bunch of scripts doing some math So every game?>poorly built in an unwieldy ass of a custom engine for no reason or benefitSee aboveAre you capable of ejaculation?
>>2335892yeah hoi2 made this genre redundant basically, but its cute to see boomers obsessing over these kinda games
isnt the engine kinda ill fitting for this kind of conflict?
>>2348569it is. Really for any conflict bigger then a backyard skirmish
>>2327957Im going to get it eventually, definitely an interesting time period
