The land combat feels more of a grind even though you can cycle your units easier than ships in space because you're stuck passively fighting constant attacks.I recommend getting a large amount of ground troops with anti-vehicle supports, endure the first assault in your landing zone and then push. (Get some AAA in reserve in case of flyers but those are pretty rare.)
