I liked it. What went wrong?
>>2336496It existed is what went wrong, if it didn't exist, there would have been nothing to go wrong.
I liked the overview videos https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C_5iX4N45vEhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YSYpNigpVSghttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y03qRXHPVvs
>>2336496I didn't like it. It felt like they took their interesting ideas from Universe at War and stripped all the fun out and replaced one of the factions with literal goo. Like the alien faction just feels like a wimpy version of the aliens from UaW without the cool walking buildings.
>>2336496Painfully mediocre, but otherwise works perfectly fine
>>2336496I'd be willing to give it a shot for a big discount, but the devs forgot the game exists. Not a sale in years
>>2336653Grey goo rips off mechanics from Earth 2160 of all things.Aliens have UCS building system with the nodes and putting buildings on slots, Humans ED contiguous megabase (though ED is much lower tech) and goo works like the aliens, they are baseless and suck up resources to replicate and evolve into combat units.Any of those could be an accident but goo/morphids is fairly unique. It feels too specific to just happen by chance to have those in one particular game especially when nomadic factions in RTS are not that common.
1. Base building is incredibly boring because everything is just 1x1 blocks2. Units are incredibly boring because everything is just 1x1 blocks that shoot and are strong against one specific 1x1 block.
>>2336989This guy would go into a rage induced coma if he discovered Minecraft
>>2336733Goddammit, now I need to replay Earth 2150.
Boring + uninspired gameplay, story, setting, factions. Forgettable game with no lasting appeal.
>>2336496>scifi game>has the most generic low-IQ futuristic aesthetics everEvery. Single. Time.
>>2336496I played it.I guess it was fineexcept I dont remember anything. I just know I played it.so all I can say is that it failed to leave any kind of meaningful impression. good or bad.
>>2338278*Goo or bad
The final update and the shroud faction broked the game to the point of ubplayability. Breaking the ai and crippling the frame rate. And it was at that same time that the devs abandoned the game. To play it with any sort of working ability you have to play the unmatched version with no dlc.Other than that though I actually enjoyed the game. It tried to introduce a new setting it made the factions each very unique, it had a fresh story that was both compelling and interesting. I think it gets a lot of undue hate and judged harshly for the crime of not being part of an established franchise.
>>2336496I only played it during the free weekend years ago but I remember the game started lagging and eventually disconnected and kicked me out during a single player skirmish against AI.I did manage to rush through the campaigns anyway. Like everyone else said, it's just boring. The characters suck and the factions suck. The fact that even the goo faction just uses a bunch of walkers for units is impressively uncreative.
>>2336527>>2336496shit i just remembered it
I liked some parts of it, but I hated how hard they tried to pander to the esports crowd. They really wanted to be the next SC2, and when the game flopped, all of that development effort put into the multiplayer aspect was wasted. The music was really good, as expected of Frank Klepacki. The campaign was alright, but it was too short. Good ideas, poor execution.
>>2336496It was just oppressively bland.
>>2336496Made for competitive multiplayer.
