>hadn't played civ in almost 16 years. >Randomly got the desire to play again. >Booted up civ 5>no support for 2k resolution>okay I'll bite the bullet>$60 later loading into civ 6Thank fucking god I knew enough to not accidently pick up civ 7. What the absolute fuck were they thinking? Not only did they make some slave nigger the leader of the US they completely ruined the game. Civ swapping and age resets?! Good fucking god.Anyway, I've been slowly working my way up the difficulty. Currently going for a domination victory on Empreor as the US and face rolling the AI. I think I kinda got a lucky start though. China immediately declared war on me (like turn 30) and I had plenty of defenses in place. I was able to completely wipe him out and take his cities. He was also getting shit on by barbs.Currently at war with half the map and I'm only in the industrial period. I think this game is in the bag, but again I think I got a lucky start. Probably will play a few more emperor games before moving up to immortal, which will probably be where I top out. I can't see myself being a deity player.
If Med 2 had more options to play tall and less schizo diplomacy it would be my perfect gameI'm playing HRE, I have never declared war on anyone, I want to be besties with France (including a marriage alliance) but I'm being forced into endless wars far from home and it's just a headache.
>>2368923Wrong thread, my bad. Sex with Cleo
>>2368741is that a vanilla run my man?
>>2369024Yes, sir.I'm tempted to pick up some of the DLC. Governors seem kind of interesting. Getting buttfucked by natural disasters seems like it could suck though.
bricked a civ 4 game because i defied the vote for environmentalism. who knew
Who’s your favorite Civ 6 leader to see, character-wise? I’ve always liked Matthias. He has a pretty amazing theme to boot.
>>23691696 has by far the best osthttps://youtu.be/5vjZw-egZJ0?list=PLk1ZTr3-diBUnfjIYivetJSPYBR7KpMROhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=25X8JYsPqyglike i often listen to these while studyingif i had to choose a leader… honestly, i can’t I like too many of them, I usually play random at this point>>2368741you can get the creamapi from cs dot rin dot ruif you've got the steam version like all of the dlcs are already downloaded on your computer (except for some dogshit scenarios)
Am I the only person who thinks Leaders are stupid and unncessary in Civilization games? Civ2 didn't have any leaders outside of the string for indentification and that game was great. Not that they are horrible, but gameplay wise they are just some magic cultural modifier most of the time, and at worst they are political bait engagement nonsense, or DLC bait. And it can suck if the game starts with few leaders or only one leader for a civilization that has modifiers that force you to play a certain way for that civilization to be ideal. That all said, Civ 4 Isabella is mai waifu.
>>2369169GilgaBro easy to befriend helps out with barbariansnot afraid of a little warleast favorite is the Khmer leader, that guy will spam you with religious units nonstop until you dozer him out of existence

I officially beat my first Empreor game. Science victory. Now I'm just nuking everyone for the lulz. It actually got kind of close. I didn't have a single war until the modern era. Russia settled too close to me and I was tired of his shit (denouncing me for like 50 turns). His tech level was ass so I just rolled him with planes. I completely wiped him out and everyone including my previous alliance members hated me for that. I only caught up in the space race at the end. Was too close for comfort and honestly, if I didn't take that war at the end I don't think I would have won. I got a ton of resources out of that. I think I had 9 or 10 cities before going to war, which I figured was plenty, but maybe not. To me its really starting to seem like warring is the only way to do it. Being peaceful never seems to work out.
>>2369684wars of opportunity are always great>stealing workers>plundering districts >getting free settler on occasion the funniest shit is always watching A.I doubling their forces from City State levies only to lose them a few turns later when I send emissaries there
>>2368603>congress systemwhat were they thinking? you vote on global resolutions and you havent even met every player yet and then the game randomly chooses two topics for every session, and all the options feel like some board gamey dogshit you dont even care about and on top of that itt punishes the player 99% of the time
is there a way to make the maps even bigger in civ5? i find the best part of civ is the early/midgame and exploration is pretty fun.
>>2370189there is a big ass earth map on the workshop
Pretty cool stuff
>>2370189One option is using the Terra mapmode (available both as a separate map and as an option on some continents maps), where everyone starts on a single continent and the mapgen uses a one size larger map for the gen. So you do like the largest map with only 8 civs where you'll all be on a pangea-sized continent with another similarly sized pristine one locked away until exploration.
is 7 worth playing yet?
>>2371122now that it has been "cracked"?not really
