I'd just like to clarify that Putin will play a very minor role in an edge scenario, he takes over Beloretsk if Russia collapses after losing the 2WRW, and his portrait is dependent on the ideology that unified Russia. This is his current communist portrait, but without the hat it'll also be the portrait for most warlords. New hat being made for this portrait.

>>
>>2374429
>unrealism
But TNO's definition of realism is retarded and constantly shifting.
The team's idea of what realism is varies about as wildly as a woman's mood. To Lam, Germany's sphere being unbreakable is le realism. To kateryna, Sweden, despite being surrounded by German puppets or allies, never deviating from the OTL Social Democrats or conservatives and also being allowed to set up a nuclear program without panzers driving into Scania is le realism. To Mango, a random republican activist who had no Presidential ambitions being elected and then becoming a fascist, and the US nuking Haiti when they could easily win a conventional war in a couple days is le realism. To whoever took over the Russia team after Corn went AWOL, Russia suddenly becoming tired when it hits almost its OTL boundaries and then relying on "conditionally loyal" Balt, Caucasian and Ukrainian partisans (which can somehow fight Germany and win at that point, whereas if Ukraine wins earlier, a non-canon nuke is dropped on Kyiv and it immediately folds) is le realism.
Realism means [thing the lead in question likes].
DV doesn't think about butterfly effects or even basic cause and effect. [Thing] happened in OTL so it will happen in TNOTL. The laziest, historical deterministic shit you've ever seen.

>Sweden, despite being surrounded by German puppets or allies, never deviating from the OTL Social Democrats or conservatives
Why would people living in a stable democracy deviate to the extremist ideologies?
>being allowed to set up a nuclear program without panzers driving into Scania is le realism
Their nuclear program is being conducted in a total secrecy. Its being revealed during a Kampfzeit, when the german leadership is disunited and doesnt control the army. Nukes are insanely easy to produce, so whoever comes on top will meet a sufficient nuclear arsenal.
>To Mango, a random republican activist who had no Presidential ambitions being elected and then becoming a fascist
I dont know much about US politics as im not ftom the US, but judging by her Wikipedia page she sounds like a prominent conservative activist. And she wont become a fascist.
>when they could easily win a conventional war in a couple days
They couldnt, because the US never wants to commit itself into a conventional war. Thats why Vietnam, Korea, Nicaragua, etc were all losses. Nuke is a cheap and easy way to win any war without full commitment.
>DV doesn't think about butterfly effects or even basic cause and effect
Most parts of Africa have a different starting situation from OTL, not even mentioning the outcome.

nayrt but the way it works on the team is way more simple. Friends of leads get it their way, people who aren't don't. You just need to be involved with the ascendant circle. In some ways I think it makes sense that Nazi Germany wouldn't be too involved in Latin American affairs. The racial nature of the regime, plus its belief in autarky means in most cases they probably wouldn't bother trying to fuck around in LatAm. That would be more Japan and the Iberian Union.

I think the main place Germany would both fucking around with would be Venezuela, just to have access to the oil there just in case.
>>
>>2374486
>They couldnt, because the US never wants to commit itself into a conventional war.
Kat, the US occupied all of Haiti for almost 20 fucking years from the 1910s-1930s most the time with just 100 marines.
The USA literally waged and won guerilla wars in Haiti in real life, decades prior to the game taking place.
>>
>>2374653
But they barely do anything with it. Germany winning the war is a footnote in the lore most of the time outside of Europe. Not only is new content actively avoiding recognizing the setting of the mod but they're actively removing old content for the same purpose. These are the worst, most creatively bankrupt people ever.
>>
>>2374411
Wait a minute, why the fuck is Ghana independent if Britain is a Nazi puppet?
You're telling me that fascist Britain still allows Kwame Nkrumah to peacefully leave the empire?
Is this version of Nkrumah a warlord? Why the fuck is he still in charge?
>>
>>2374662
Because it's good and realism that OTL things happen.
>>
>>2374661
That's why Germany owning Africa was so important. Because while it does make sense that the Nazis wouldn't really fuck around with East Asia or the Americas, they need to be involved somewhere for them to actually be a major faction gameplay-wise.
Africa was a good place for that. It made a bit of sense, it was a place they'd be able to conquer and would lead into their whole autarky mindset.
Plus it's just a naturally horrific image which really makes TNO stand out.

Now Germany is essentially going to be a non-factor. They won't have a civil war, won't lose parts of their European sphere, and won't be involved in the stories of literally anywhere else.

Good point.
But if we're getting into the territory of the US stopping the Europeans from influencing Africa, wouldn't both the US and Japan probably ensure all of West Africa be already independent?
Because the Vichy French and puppet British won't have any authority, in a Axis victory you'd think the Europeans would have lost practical control over West Africa by 1962

Kat, the advancing of time makes US control over Haiti easier, not harder.
Haiti is a dirt poor island nation with only one neighbor, who doesn't allow border crossings.
This means that guerillas would have nowhere to hide, and no way to get more supplies. And they also wouldn't have any meaningful amount of weapons to begin with.

France lost in Vietnam since Vietnam is 10 times larger both in population and geography and had a direct land border with nations who could easily smuggle in guns.
It and a hypothetical Haitian war would have nothing in common. Hell, Haiti doesn't even real have jungles. The people have already clean-cut their half of the island. Meaning they'd be easily targeted by air power.

If you, and the dumbasses on your mod team, think that the US wouldn't be able to control Haiti, then why the fuck would Vichy France and Germany have any shot at controlling Madagascar? A land which is more populous, more large, further away from the homeland of the nations involved, and with worse terrain for an occupying force?

France lost Vietnam because:
1) Japan actively funded rebel movements in Indochina for a large part of WW2
2) Vietnam is THOUSANDS of Kilometers away from France
3) They didnt really lose, they just kinda gave up. Mendes was a staunch enemy of the war, so when he came to power, he basically did all he could to pull out of the region.

If Mendes hadnt pulled out and Laniel woulda stayed in power, its not unthinkable that France would have kept its colonial empire for longer, or atleast a neo-colonial version of this.

Compare this to Haiti
- Noone to fund them
- Literally under a thousand km away from MAINLAND USA
- Nuking is a step above military intervention, and a much larger commitment. Troops can always be pulled out, buildings repaired, and money payed for reconcilliation. Nukes... not so much. Even now Japan is playing the "but we got nuked twice" card. And thats WITH them being a staunch US ally

>Haiti is a dirt poor island nation with only one neighbor, who doesn't allow border crossings.
Kat, the uprising starts after Puerto Plata. A good chunk of post-Puerto Plata leaders support it directly or indirectly. Trujillo deports a lot of haitians that join the resistance. Dominican Republic has a relatively weak border, otherwise there wont be any haitians for Trujillo to deal with OTL.
>France lost in Vietnam since Vietnam is 10 times larger both in population and geography
Retard, if you didnt know that before, France didnt attack the whole Vietnam, but rather certain areas, controlled by rebels. But wait, how did France won over Vietnam before, despite its size? Must be bad writing again.
>Hell, Haiti doesn't even real have jungles. The people have already clean-cut their half of the island. Meaning they'd be easily targeted by air power.
This could be a good argument. I see you used your small nigger brain to finally formulate a single decent thought. But even that didnt work in the end. Around 50% of the haitian land in 50s had jungles on it, with massive deforestation happening in 60s due to Trujillo's assasination and opening trade with Dominican Republic.
>If you, and the dumbasses on your mod team, think that the US wouldn't be able to control Haiti, then why the fuck would Vichy France and Germany have any shot at controlling Madagascar
Believe me or not, but they could lose it even in current version. And the US could win in Haiti in current version. Nuke is a last resort if you fucked up bad enough. So?
That still doesn't mean that Haitian rebels would be able to be supplied. It does take care of the leadership problem I forgot to mention, but it still leaves a rather small number of militants in a very small and isolated position.
>Trujillo deports a lot of Haitians
The number of Haitians doesn't matter if they don't have guns.
>The Dominican Republic border is weak
This is the most unrealistic shit I've ever heard. You think the DR would ever have a porous border with Haiti?
Moreover, the DR hates Haiti, always had. The DR government has no reason to ever arm the Haitians nor aid in their rebellion.
And even if they decided, for some unknown reason, to supply guns to Haiti, why would the US nuke Haiti instead of just blockading the Dominican Republic? The US successfully blockaded Cuba despite them being backed by the USSR and being a much larger nation. If guns were coming in through the DR, America would easily be able to stop that.
>Deforestation hadn't occurred yet
This is a good point, but it's not like jungle combat is impossible. When you have a very limited number of militants who can't get more supply, a prolonged war should be an easy victory for the USA.

>The nuke is for if you fuck up the minigame enough
The nuke is still really dumb. Like ungodly retarded. But it's good to hear that this is just a minigame and not pre-established or inevitable lore.

The US offering diplomatic support to Ghana is a lot less outlandish that the ground war in Africa between the US and Germany current TNO has. Surely you can see this argument doesn't hold much weight.
At any rate, Africa has a massive population and a shit ton of resources to extract. It's very much a place you want in your sphere as a Superpower, and Ghana would allow the US to expand into the rest of the continent.

>Japan actively funded rebel movements in Indochina
I dont know much about it, but i know for sure that they didnt fund Vietminh as they fought against it. And desu it sounds like a bullshit, cause Indochina was de-facto controlled militarily by Japan since 1940 and politically by Vichy France, their ally. Why would they arm rebels that will attack their own garrisons?
>They didnt really lose, they just kinda gave up
I mean, thats what losing essentially is. You lose if you cant achieve your goals. France couldnt achieve its goals and therefore lost. Laniel resigned as he realized he couldnt win the war and his successor's decision to cut the losses was backed by the entire parliament. Again, this logic applies only to democratic governments, because they cant afford themselves to wage an unpopular war.
>Nuking is a step above military intervention, and a much larger commitment
Japan is the perfect example of what im trying to say. They can only "play a card" with no real consequences. Their political establishment is staunchly pro-american their population is staunchly pro-american too, including ultranationalists, with only communists opposing the US. But they are fucking communists, they would be against the US anyway. Nuking after WW2 was concidered an option by the top US generals such as LeMay and MacArthur so its not an imaginary scenario. The very choice to not use nuke was made by politics and will remain as such with only certain leaders having an opportunity (!) to use them if things get really ugly and nothing else works. And i personally find the scenario of a post-WW2 usage of nukes against minor states interesting enough to explore.

Besides, im not here to defend Haiti-Vietnam parallel. Its just an example of a ragtag army defeating a first world power. We can discuss Algerian War as well, because it looks closer to Haiti in terms of geography.

>That still doesn't mean that Haitian rebels would be able to be supplied
How so? I have literally said that they are being directly or indirectly supported by the DR. How doesnt it change their ability to be supplied?
>The number of Haitians doesn't matter if they don't have guns.
Guns is never a problem as rebels always find a way to have them. It happened in LATAM and Africa multiple times with no clear soviet material support. Niggers in Kenya literally had bows and arrows to fight against GB and it took GB 4 years and concentration camps to deal with them.
>You think the DR would ever have a porous border with Haiti
Its not a question of what they want or dont want. These are facts on the ground. Both sides of the border are covered by jungles and DR border guard is either corrupt (Trujillo case in particular) or allows haitians to cross the border willingly.
>The DR government has no reason to ever arm the Haitians nor aid in their rebellion
Communists will help them because they are communists, Bosh will help them because he is a left wing retard.
>why would the US nuke Haiti instead of just blockading the Dominican Republic
They could. And what would they achieve by that? The US blockaded Cuba, but Cuba was a total loss by itself, so blockade was a damage control measure.
>When you have a very limited number of militants who can't get more supply, a prolonged war should be an easy victory for the USA
The longer the war drags the more unpopular it gets the bigger the government willingness to cut its losses become. The prolonged war for democracies is always worse than the swift war. The number of militants is virtually unlimited, because every local is a potential militant and you simply cant kill every local to achieve your goal (with nukes being a comfortable alternative). Look at Iraq. It was under the military occupation for 20 years and there are still militants attacking the US bases there.
>>
>>2374844
... And coincidentally, their development is the most fucked and dead out of all the powers.

Nuking Haiti/Gorky is retarded and makes as much sense as a scenario where Reagan ragequits Grenada by nuking the place. It's like swatting flies using dynamite and both scenarios could easily be handled with a single brigade. At least use the nuclear card in a conflict with actual stakes. I think everyone talking about the military merits of nuking the world's poorest, tiniest and most useless shitholes miss the actual point of the act which is to serve as cheap shock value. Both events are only meant to make you feel like the country doing it is bad and nothing else was ever considered.

I'm sure you could think of a lot of reasonable use cases in-universe but chief this ain't it and that's deliberate on part of the nudevs.

>I have literally said that they are being directly or indirectly supported by the DR.
That is really dumb. Just knowing the region and its culture, there is no circumstance where the DR would arm Haiti.
And even if they did, it would be incredibly easy for the US to stop that. America has so much economic influence on the DR that no government would resist an American request/demand to cease the arming of militants.
>Guns is never a problem because rebels always find a way to have them
Holy ignorance, Batman.
There is a massive difference between a small and incredibly impoverished island nation and mainland Latin America. Haiti only has a few sea ports, which would be immediately and fully ceased by the US, and one land border with a nation who wouldn't support them.
>The DR's border would be porous because it just would, okay?
Well that's dumb. That has always been one of the most guarded and contentious borders on the planet, especially under Trujillo.
>Communists will help Haiti
Which communists? TNO barely has any. It's a fascist world where the few remaining socialist states are loosely aligned with the US to fight the axis.
>What would be achieved by a blockade of Hispaniola?
The end of DR support for Haitian rebels.
>What good did the blockade do in Cuba?
We didn't have a military fighting in Cuba. If we did, we would have easily been able to destroy that government, or the rebels. We didn't choose to, which meant the regime changed and eventually sided with the USSR, preventing the US from intervening again.

When US troops have actually been deployed in the Caribbean, we have always won quickly. We occupied and destroyed all resistance in Cuba, Puerto Rico, Haiti, and the DR during the Banana Wars in the early 20th century. Later we easily overthrew both Trujillo and the government of Grenada.
There is no precedent for the US struggling in Caribbean island campaigns.

>The longer the war drags, the more unpopular it gets
But the war wouldn't drag. The US, with incredibly limited forces, has won the military campaigns in every direct military intervention in a Caribbean island in barely any time at all.

Now would the occupation become unpopular? Yes. It was in real life when he occupied Haiti for 19 years. The only reason we stayed that long was because we managed to hold the island together with only 100 marines, which made it easily ignorable, but we did eventually leave.

This gets to another issue with the nuking, there is just no reason to.
If America had a quagmire in Haiti and we wanted out, we'd just leave. Haiti is a really irrelevant impoverished island nation. This isn't Cuba which was a powerful island which sided with our main geopolitical enemy, this would be a much smaller rogue state we would have little investment in.

>Look at Iraq
This is a terrible comparison.
Iraq is 16 times the size of Haiti and over 4 times the population. Plus Iraq is a nation with huge ethnic and religious divides, a major religious subgroup which views war as holy, and is surrounded by neighbors which either harbor warlords or rich sheiks who would support religious terrorists.

Haiti is a homogenous island nation used to dictatorships. When we left Haiti, the guys we propped up continued to run the island for 15 years.
>>
>>2375025
nayrt but:
>Which communists? TNO barely has any. It's a fascist world where the few remaining socialist states are loosely aligned with the US to fight the axis.
This isn't true. This SHOULD be true, but for some reason far-left ideologies including communism are still relevant, popular and important in TNOTL. Most of this boils down to lazy otlism that ignores that Germany won WW2 (many such cases) like Mexico and elsewhere like in Britain they can become far more powerful, important and relevant than even the premise would justify because the Britain lead is a pretend-communist.

Good post overall. What I think ayrt is getting to is that there would be some kind of international brigade type of deal like you had in the Spanish Civil War for the Republicans, but I just don't see it happening. Even then, could you imagine seeing something of the scale of the fervor that you had for the Spanish cause in the 30s be replicated for some Caribbean Marxists, let alone enough to even pose a hypothetical threat to US marine presence? Don't think so. So even with communists being a thing, that argument is moot not just because of the cause but because getting there involves making it across the entire Atlantic ocean, evading the US navy and coast guard, and then landing in one of the country's few functioning ports without being detained by marines.

Fortunately, it changes to make the US forpol more nuanced. There are pro-US leftists, anti-US leftists, pro-US dictatorships, anti-US dictatorships. Take OTL Trujillo and Batista for instance. The fact that you use post-USSR movements like FARC as an example is just embarrassing too and you should feel ashamed of yourself for grasping at straws like this to justify the communist insurgency in Haiti being so big and bad it needs nukes to be put down. For starters, the USSR existing and propping up its ideology for fifty years isn't the same thing as communism being destroyed in its infancy and counter-insurgency in half of a tiny island isn't the same thing as fighting one in a country that's nearly twice the size of Texas. If you don't understand why exhibit A being a hundred times larger than exhibit B matters then congrats, you somehow lack cognitive functions that most toddlers have. And again, you keep using examples that are invalidated by the mod's timeline. But I guess I shouldn't be surprised when the mod is riddled with so many other cases like Mexico and heaps of DV where the fall of the USSR is less than an afterthought as far as it's impact on the alt history. But yes, keep throwing around slurs like we care. We know you devs like to treat /vst/ as a Doki where you get to use the scary no-no words you moralize against others for using on Discord.

>>
>>2375545
You complete and utter moron, we are discussing realism and what do you think realism is? Of course you have to compare TNOTL events to OTL to define what sounds real and what doesnt. Fucking retard, im done with your stupidity, you dont deserve my reply.
>>
>>2375503
You didn't. You just appealed to OTL while ignoring every single timeline change and used false equivalences like comparing the tiny shithole of Haiti to the vastness of Colombia and pretended that these were 1:1 comparisons and then simply declared victory while calling people names whenever you got pushback. You're behaving exactly like we've come to expect of you devs.
>>
>>2375558

Whatever the leads say it is, you bozo.
The fucking Nazis lost WW2 in our timeline. You can't just compare shit from OTL to an Axis victory timeline and expect them to make sense because there's an Elefant in the room.
>>
>>2375558
And this, ladies and gentlemen, is why TNO is as stupid as it is. This guy doesn't even understand that the realism of our world isn't applicable to TNO. If the entire timeline changes then no you can't just lazily copy-paste shit from Wikipedia and call it a day. It's exactly this kind of mentality that has led to you just bolting on OTL Africa onto an Axis victory timeline.

Tabby Russia can avoid collapse after unification, but I'm not sure if it's an AI path since Goodwinson made it. Tabby unifying Russia is basically a player only path anyways, but yes, Tabby's ministers can fake his death and later launch the 2WRW and potentially lose it, and if they do Putin will get this portrait as a post-collapse warlord.
As a bonus, Hyperborean AB portrait.

Complete TNO newfag, found out about the mod few weeks ago, can anyone suggest what countries to play? I have finished Burgundy and I am trying Germany now, any other suggestions? But reading the threads I see a depressing picture of the mods future and Burgundy being threatened to be removed which I hope doesn't happen.
>>
>>2375785
Burgundy isn't particularly good or fun to play desu, so you've got the best ahead of you. Reccomend playing Guangdong, a Russian Warlord (Komi, Kemerovo and Amur are all good imo) and Brazil have good decade long content. USA is also fine and Britain if you don't mind it being short and blueballing you
>>
>>2375785
Burgundy along with most old content is being removed or replaced. The tl;dr is that the mod was hijacked. The current leads purged everyone that created what made the mod popular and it's been in a total dev hell since then while they frantically remove content. You're recommended to unsub from the "main" mod and play one of the reduxes instead. TNO: Rises Again is a mod that keeps all the old stuff including Atlantropa and builds on that while TNO: Requiem tries to add content to a 2024 build and it's a middle ground between the two. Sorry to break it to you but shit's fucked and TNO would be dead if it wasn't for these fan preservation projects.

As for tags to play: all Russian warlords are worth playing but some are better than others. Komi is very varied and fun, Amur and Kemerovo have great writing, you can honestly find lots of good qualities in all of them. Guangdong is also highly recommended if you want to get into the economics of the mod with an interesting premise. It's not supported by RA though so that's worth considering since it's based on a build that predates Guangdong.

Burgundy is confirmed to be removed and has been cut from dev builds for years. The only thing that's keeping it playable in the official Steam version is the coder bleed and expanding scope of Germany's rework which has stalled it for longer than I was in college.

>>
>>2375887

>>2375904

>>
>>2375866
I hope Burgundy will have a path to take over Germany.
>>
>>2375920
And France
>>
>>2375921
I think the planned Burgundy 2 content did that really well.
>Late game, there's a final battle between France and Burgundy
>This caps off their 70s content and is a lead-in to their respective late game content
Yes the SS division in nuBurgundy isn't the same thing but I liked the idea. For gameplay, it made a lot of sense.

For Burgundy to take over Germany without Heydrich using the fallout of a 2WRW that went south could work, but it might seem lazy to just repeat the old SS coup lore which I think Rises Again keeps.
>>

We did anti partisan operations in Cuba, Puerto Rico, and both Haiti and the DR before WW2 and won all of them.
Why would it be different when the US is even more powerful?

>You don't have to nuke Haiti
Yeah, but it's such a ridiculous option though. Like why there not going to be an option for Russia to get back Eastern Europe in the 2ndWRW, but the US can nuke Haiti for no reason?
>Haiti's homogeneity would make an occupation harder
No it wouldn't, because all the US would have to do (and this is something we did multiple times in the Banana wars) is have a free election and leave, and there won't be more fighting since the population is homogenous.
The reason Iraq and Afghanistan were suck quagmires was because they would devolve to ethnic and religious violence whenever we weren't guarding it.
In Haiti an election could be held which would allow the US to just leave easily.

Both of them stem from the devs IRL politics.
Russia, regardless of who's in charge, will get sleepy east of their current borders, cave to Germany despite winning, and agree to recognize the borders of the RKs. America nuking Haiti and irradiating their backyard also makes no sense but happens anyway because the devs suffer from US politics brain rot and TDS. Simple as.

It did improve some things in my opinion. Having the cw be between actual fascist collaborators and a resistance hits harder than a battle between two sides that both want to move away from Germany just to give one example. So maybe not necessary, but it brought some upsides.

Buuut it'll never be more than a demo especially after Frost purged all his old co-leads on the project so in the end it's all moot and for everything good there's tons of things that, at best, is wasted potential.

>But what was wrong with original UK?
No real fascist paths, just different tories who would pivot away from Germany, gratuitous young Thatcher inclusion as leader, Wilson inexplicably libsoc but just implementing standard Labour policy, nonsensical Wales and Scotland, generally bad writing. We'll never see another Britain update again but if the rework's planned content had ever been made and released it would have been light years ahead of the Britain content on release, especially with the Jordan esoteric hitlerist path being a full path.
>>
>>2376557
The Ruin was a complete shitshow of an update
Originally it was called Lech I Rus and was supposed to have Ukraine and Poland content
Problem was Poland dev was way too optimistic about how fast the content would get made and the devs were dumbfounded when they found out it wasn't close to being releasable
Then they had to retool the update, renaming it to The Ruin and integrating TFL while indefinitely delaying Poland content
Apperantly on the day of release Ukraine didn't even have all of it's GFX coded in. Utter shitshow
Now, UK content is nowhere to be seen, undergoing a characterization rework for most of the paths (and deciding that Jordan will actually be playable and not a failstate) and as well they have to account for DV too
Ukraine on the other hand, is getting the insurgency mechanic in TMT, which was intended to be a stop-gap for missing content. RK content is on indefinite pause, waiting for V&J to release, but it is getting skeleton content apperantly
>>

Same team that needed at least four years to even figure out what the GCW replacement should even look like btw. Your friend's probably retarded or new to the team if he doesn't know how bad their track record is with these kinds of things. And no, you can't just add back Portugal's colonial empire as a minigame and call it a day. It being destroyed is a core reason for Iberia existing in the first place. But they handwaved away Atlantropa no longer existing so maybe they'll do that for it as well.

>Kennedy can survive, Nixon can serve more than 2 terms, up until end game, eventually transforming into a personalistic dictatorship. If both Dems and Reps fuck up and the 1972 election results in a deadlock, Hall wins D.C and somehow becomes president while the senate elects Reagan. Hall can get impeached or if he manage to hold and the CPUSA did well in the 74 midterms, Hall can moderate and becomes Left-wing Corporatist.Phyllis Schlafly can do something funny and turn fascist, however it'll lead to a series of impeachment resulting in 8 presidents in a short amount of time, before returning to normalcy.

>KF is a hivemind
You might as well say that /pol/ is but I digress. The original TNO is just a fun setting, a nice blend of insanity in Germany's empire and a more grounded world around it that tries to adapt to its reality. There's a lot to like about it and even if you're a living /pol/tard caricature the "message" was always diluted through you being able to LARP, destroy entire continents, and have a few chuckles at events and happenings in between. It was a soulful piece made by people that cared and had heart, whatever we might think of them as people or their ideas for that matter.

NuTNO is soulless. It's the modding version of when a company buys up a brand and then puts a committee in charge of it that hates the original product, fanbase and genre and seeks to recreate it for a mythical modern audience without understanding why anyone liked it in the first place. They care more about their corporate agenda and message than even Panzer et al, who at least at the end up the day understood that someone actually needed to want to play their thing for it to matter. They erased the original setting, they shoehorned in their own politics to a fault, and they drove the entire thing into the ground while insisting that third world countries having bases in Antarctica is a substitute for the SS giga LARPs they want to delete and replace with nothing.

God hates nudevs.

Nothing. The rework is meant to just have the RK decolonize into ethnic puppets just like most new colonies eventually are. It's not too dissimilar to the "good" endings in Kaukasien.

>>
>>2377203
TFO has always been a good barometer for TNO's future plan. People used to joke about the fact that you could tell what their reworks were months or even years ahead of their public reveals just by looking at their old maps. Parts of DV and the removal of Congo Lake was shown in TFO a long time before it was revealed even to to TNO devs outside the inner circle of leads.
>>
>>2377191
Retard, do you even understand how the treaties work? To replace the 1920s treaty which was signed when the russian population there was at 10% you need two signatures: one from the russian and one from the estonian side. Estonian side did everything to enact the treaty, russian - did not.

What a blatant lie lmao, it's like no one will check what you've said or what?
26/12/2024, half a year before DV was announced to be integrated, weld made a teaser with the images of the TFO map, and Congo Lake was there. And just from looking at the African parts of the map, you can easily say they accounted for old lore (even though, with some tweaks, like the stalemate between the WAA and PALF in the West African War), not the DV one.
26/07/2025, one day after the DV integration announcement, weld posts dev blog with the same title and the new Africa map, where you can no longer see the Congo Lake.
>>

So what you're saying is that, at worst, anon is mixing up two map reveals, and that TFO is so closely integrated to TNO that they were able to reveal their map that was adapted to DV a day after TNO's reveal, proving that TFO was informed about it well in advance and that this likely didn't affect their plans at all? You're still just an extension of the TNO nudevs at that point so it doesn't exactly change anything.

Both Norway and Denmark have been out for ages. Denmark's just normal elections with one exception being that if you legalize porn and abortions there's a Nazi coup. Norway's just a rotating door of German puppets with the option to elect historical centrists that also end up being pro-German. The chart also had a walltext about a cod war mechanic with Britain which is just, lol. They actually thought Britain wasn't going to die.

The team released the post-unification Omsk content last year. They were going to add more content to the Great Trial, but decided to take a break from the tag because people needed a break from it. is it just me or is Requiem noticeably faster than TNO
>>
>>2377564
It's because of the map. It was noticeably slower especially on release because of all the bullshit they added. Things like Antarctica not sending out thousands of checks every in game hour helps too. To be honest TNO itself wouldn't be so slow if they just stopped using the ODF map.
>>
>>2377564
From what I can tell they have this novel work flow of "Only work on whats confirmed to be releasing"

Something TNO doesnt have, where instead over at base TNO they just work on content as its being designed, so updates release way slower.

Also helps that Requiem is the sponge for TNO devs that get kicked out or are tired of base TNO, but still want to work on TNO in general.

I don't understand how anyone can give a shit about the DV "content". None of it'll be playable, and even the things that look cool reek of wasted potential even if you ignore all that was lost to make it happen. If they'd just let you play as and larp some of these places then fine but it's mostly just as useless as any other skeleton that you can barely interact with and even then you're at the mercy of an AI or RNG Allah.

But we're just trading an interesting proxy war for proxy wars that are such boring footnotes that no one gives a shit about them. You have an alt history setting with infinite possibilities, and what do you do? For the most part the most soulless pragmatic cold war politics imaginable at worst and OTLism at best. Look: I don't give a fuck if an apolitical despot is aligned with power A, B or C. It's so boring, it's so soulless, it could only be concocted either by a corporate suit or an unironic NAFO highschooler. The original setting was really fucking dumb and the gameplay post-SAW was often bad, but there's just something epic about GIs fighting Boer Vietcong and SS hordes in the African savannah. There's a reason why these scenarios captured the imagination of hundreds of thousands, and why DV was met with such overwhelming scorn by the community that fell in love with TNO in the first place. It isn't even necessarily about the reworks and changing out old favorites. It's just so fucking soulless, unimaginative and uninspiring. It's like telling me to put my life on the line for neoliberal market dynamics. Fuck that.

Lying about reworks is also just a thing they do a lot with Burgundy being the most notorious one. They lied about not removing it for years. Another one is Vote Pig where they devote an entire section of the proposal to covering it up and managing the fallout of all their unpopular changes. Nudevs just can't be honest with their audience. Its even worse than you know. They couped the whole italian leadership.

Spearguy got forced out, Pikeman was soft purged, the whole demitaly team was kicked and the old RI lead was retired.

They implemented a tfo tranny friend of the devs as demitaly lead, a random guy (filmore) is now the actual lead and the RI team is one guy only now.
>>
>>2379895
Mango tried to force his own view of italy which was 2 paths (Balbo and Pavolini) and a mid path transition to demitaly to both but he got told to fuck off even by his own appointed cronies.
>>
>>2379897
Soft couping the whole team wasnt enough for them and they ended up having to harrass a few team members who heard of the affair (The whole purge was only known to the leads, others were told that they just left on their own) into deleting their accounts or leaving all TNO spaces, from one of them I got all this info.

Dead since a while back. Scroll up to >2379895 for a QRD.
>Goering path status?
0 progress, there's a new Germany rework sheet here >>2379939 but it just lists his route as a question mark. Bormann has been "nearly done" for years and Speer is in dev hell so don't count on this to drop in your lifetime. A while back someone leaked their plans for a Schoerner route which was basically just going to be Goering but lamer/delayed. This is, of course, completely dead. Picrel is the bleak as fuck "teaser" he dropped while saying that the full thing was too shitty to share. He posted several full pages so it is real, sorry to say.
>Colab France status?
Dead and in complete rework hell. They were forced to rework everything from scratch after a decision was made to delete all African content and add in OTL Africa (because a friend of the lead made it). This restores the French Empire but erases all their work. All 100+ page France proposals are presumed to need at least partial reworks.
>Iberia status?
It was meant to release in December-January and they released a few teasers alluding to this... But it was delayed. They're supposed to make an announcement this Friday, but that might also be delayed.
>Brazil 10 year content status?
They released two routes last year. Reactions ranged from "meh" to "ok". It was a much-delayed but overall fine update for what it was.
>HMMLR England status?
Zero progress, collabs are in dev hell. All original leads except a friend of the overall TNO lead are gone and he refuses to do any work.

What you may have missed: There are also two reduxes released last summer. TNO Requiem and TNO Rises Again. Requiem has the pre-Antarctica map and TNO Rises Again which is a Panzerite Atlantropa map. Both are pretty good and you should unsubscribe from TNO and subscribe to whichever of those sounds the most fun because TNO is just completely dead at this point.

I'm sad that I am not studying a subject area where I could write a PHD on the development hell of TNO. Its such a facinating story, as all development stories are, but this one really takes the cake. Sure, you have the stories of how Disney shat the bed with Solo or Episode 9 with them being constantly rewritten or fucked up due to egotistical boobs with conflicting visions, but TNO... Its like a social experiment of letting a bunch of disorganized workshy zoomer "contributors" with infinite resources (because there is literally no one overseeing if the project suceeds or not and there are fuck all deadlines), each of whom has a gigantic ego and competing vision, trying to make... something. Its like King of the Flies in a way. And what is the overall result? Seems like all we have are bunch of visual teasers, fake "skeleton" content and hundreds upon hundreds of conflicting design documents for the uphteenth rework of Richard Nixon. Though perhaps this isn't that unique - perhaps this is just a retreading of what it felt like to live in a hippy commune.
>>
>>2380129
They're not too bad about their release estimates tho. If true I'll treat that as a summer release being likely.
>>
>>2380145
Teams as dysfunctional as the TNO one are a dime a dozen out there. You just never hear about them because they never make anything. What makes TNO unique is that you have these talentless, tone deaf morons take over something that's popular and has a large fanbase only to alienate most of it and remove everything that made it popular in the first place. Comparing it to how a soulless corporation like Disney handles bought properties is apt. It's like a bunch of terminally online nobodies larping as company execs.
>>
>>2380148
One thing to note about TNOs popularity is that it came at a time and to an audiance which was full of political weirdos - from nazis to tankies, fascists, leftcoms, syndicalists, herenvolk-democrats, alt-rightists and ultra-liberal trans-rights advocates, coming from all corners of the world. Everyone was welcome in the goofy ass house of horrors that was TNO. But who ended up on top? A bunch of American libtards who are still mentally stuck in the trauma of Nixon winning in 68. The most boring nitwits who have only watched one movie and its All the Presidents Men. And then they looked at every single goofy thing and sandpapered it off.

It depends. I think it could be done and released by itself without too much of a hassle because it's all just skeletons. The problem is that it destroys the backbone of the current US and German content so the US/GER content so it'll likely be bottlenecked if they're smart. But Goering and much more remains unplayable so maybe they'll just destroy the early game for those tags and call it a day.

Yes anon it's pure coincidence that these retards that never make content and exclusively do political brain rot bullshit tease their Iran rework under an arch-devnigger just when it's the current thing, uh-huh. Ukraine got a partial rework and got fast tracked for an update after 2022. Nice try, retard, but we already know the dev lore on Ukraine. The fact that RKU existed before 2022 doesn't magically erase what happened after the team got obsessed over the related politics.

We already had leaks on this. Yes, it was fine because it'd explode into a cw that made for a good late game scramble between the majors. Your shit doesn't matter if it just sits around and does nothing which is what people like Frost said multiple times. If you have proof saying otherwise, post the full chart or fuck off.

They weren’t fighting there before sealion? did italy take the suez before or after sealion, Also for that matter when did turkey join the war? When did iraq or palestine fall? So many questions about ww2 are just never answered
>>
>>2381057
It is almost like they are currently developing lore for it as the MENA countries were untouched since release.
>>
>>2381066
That’s cool and all, But it’s still a bit of a pet peeve of mine that the major battles and lore for ww2 has barley changed to accommodate the new direction
>>
>>2381074
In case of Iran i agree. I believe it would be more interesting if it had pro-GEACPS Mossadegh in charge and reinstating the monarchy was oneof the paths for Germany.
>>
>>2381107
It’s a shame there isn’t more elaboration with the geacps. They sort of feel tacked on in the cold war rather than a major player. The cold war is basically germany vs america and japan is sort of just there. There needs to be hotter tensions between america and japan, moreover An ideological basis for hating the japs because america and japan basically have the same ideology of decolonization with the only difference is that japan supports nationalists while america supports liberals
>>
>>2381119
Japan feels like it almost takes the place of the IRL Soviet Union in many cases, though with more support of nationalist movements as well as communist ones, which is pretty true to life - seeing as they employed collaborators from both the left and right, but they do feel like such a nothingburger.
It's also really odd because it'd make sense for them to be backing the Arab Nationalist Ba'ath types during the Oil Crisis but they back the fundamentalists like the Muslim Brotherhood and Islamic Revolution, for some reason.
>>
>>2381074
>Germany wins WW2
>The Allied actions of the war are ignored
>TNO lazily adds the IRL interwar events to this timeline
It was easier to excuse this back in 2020 when Iran was just a skeleton without content that, like many others, just exploded at a convenient time to serve as a plot point. Now all the wars will be gone before long and we still have this lazy shit where we just get a vague Axis overlay on top a historical 1962. Fuck this gay earth.

>>2381153
It used to be that the Germans supported the Ba'athists which makes more sense to be honest. All of that was destroyed with time. I don't mind Japan being more pragmatic especially far away from home like with their support for Cameroon but what worked back in those days is just going to be generic cold war slop once DV drops. Germany is increasingly heading in that direction too. It's as if the devs just have no interest in the setting they hijacked and just want to write about real life cold war conflicts at times.

I don't think it's deliberate apologia since everyone involved in making these decisions is more or less a certified end of history liberal. However having their creative bankruptcy lead to either no changes or more stability outside of eastern Europe is a humorous outcome. A /pol/tard would've done a better job since he'd at least be inclined to show how hard they'd fuck over their enemies. Even eastern Europe isn't that bad west of Russia in their plans since it's all going to become stable collab regimes in most places.

It's not perfect because of their fucked map projection but if you do a semi-transparent overlay the two maps are almost identical. Yugo wasn't really that special. He was a realist and had a good head on his shoulders and from all the accounts we have he just wanted to avoid rework hells, scoplosions and make things fun. It really isn't that special but he often butted heads with the realismtards.

>>2382230
>Why do you care about who make the content
Because their abrasive and combative personalities objectively speaking caused several years of delays and it's the main reason why I'll never get to enjoy the Manchuria content before I hit retirement age in a few decades. It's also entirely their fault for being bastards in public. If they'd just been more like the KR devs or any other team that actually functions none of this would've happened and you wouldn't have to be doing damage control for your friends on a Nepalese basket weaving forum.
>>
>>2382243

Latest Requiem Teaser, they made picking the colors for Ideologies fully modular for the player

>>
>>2382747

No Idea why catbox broke
>>
>>2382749
Oh my fucking God they resolved all the ideology autism battles. Not even joking and I hope other people steal it. There are so many times this pisses me off and I don't want a submod for everything.
>>
>>2382563
Being burn-out is a terrible thing because of the terrible leadership. I was in another mod, I poured my heart into writing and resarching and planning, I was the only, the sole dev of the nation.
The lead was a (diagnosed) bipolar schizo, didn't like me at all, despite how much I did for it. So, once another high-ranking dev coded the things I was daydreaming about for months, and I posed the teaser after a few hours. One night sleep later, I was at my happiest, ecstatic about the people enjoying something i've put my heart at... and hours later, I was a forcibly a 'former dev', with the official excuse for the commonfolk that the teaser was unauthorized. Go fuck yourself, I give up modding. I don't care anymore. I'm not going to waste my life on something that can be shredded by morons.
>>
>>2382779

>>2382579
Could you please show the country select screen rework?
>>
>>2382586
>>2382816
https://files.catbox.moe/2baj6y.mp4
cant find the one i made for tno (prob deleted it in a rage like most stuff lmao) but i found the version i ported to a friends mod so use ur imagination with the borders/ui style, the main concept of the rework was just giving tno a more unique country selection screen by picking countries on an interactable map rather than flags, its prob scrapped now that i left tho

https://files.catbox.moe/bq5trb.mp4
theres also this too which was an addition to the proxy system to make stuff more visible on the map rather than stuck in guis by highlighting chaotic flashpoint regions

i sadly cant find the "event rework" that frost was interested in but that was yet another "cool new mechanic" which the greyfags wanted
>>
>>2382611
yea, and the worst part is that the burnout from tno is always external rather than internal from my xp, im a major workaholic so burnout is frequently self inflicted but tno was one of the few environments where i got burnt out bc of designers wanting to get a toozer out by a deadline or wtv, the 5th anniversary teasing in particular was hell as one of the few active coders
>no engineers to build your utopia for you
its so fucking satisfying to see tno lose its skilled coders bc of their own fuckups kek, waiting for the day when complex guis become lost knowledge due to the team just being made up of writers and designers
>>
>>2382749
this is cool asf ngl, i was kinda worried requiem would fall into the same issues as tno but they seem to be doing okay
>>
>>2382981
I don't even think they have any designers even at least not ones that know how the game works or care. When you look at their plans a lot of it's just political sperging and pointless shit no one's even going to see. So you have a team of writers, artists and narrative builders. Because when I look at the charts in the newest leaks at no point do I ever feel like it was made for someone to play.
>>
Hi, everyone! Work on TSAR AND SOVIETS continues unabated, and we are busy playtesting and balancing it right now! We wanted to show off the new Russian raiding system that's coming with the new update, which will give every Russian nation a lot more choice and variety in choosing their raiding stance and raiding aim. Combined with that, not only will you get an extra variety of things to invest your loot in, but the new gathering for loot will now have varied outcomes, some good, some bad, some fantastic. Who knows what your searching parties will find out there in these vast Russian lands?
>>
>>2382985
Requiem is just a normal-ass mod at this point like Red Dusk or any other. And you know what, I'm OK with that.
>>
>>2382976
that's so fucking cool man. In case you can get past your burnout and hatred of TNO, you should go over to Requiem who are now doing full motion video intro's and stuff like this >>2382670 Apparently there is a major big shot coder from TNO named Curving that went over to Requiem and is doing all those kinds of things for them now.

Also they probably despise TNO as much as you do in case you think they're somehow related to TNO itself
>>
>>2383028
>I have a reason to play Russia again
Cool.

>>2383031
>They despise TNO
I think that was more true last year when TNO actively attacked them but since they're increasingly irrelevant and stagnant now I think it's more like an unfriendly indifference. Though I bet devs there that are TNO formers probably hate them more than the average guy.
>>
>>2383031
This wasn't curving, this was I think Ruskaz? Current GWR lead.

I do wonder, how the flying fuck does Requiem manage to have all these goated Coders???
I dislike Glazing them, but honestly big props to their Lead Coder, guy seems to be great at nurturing talent or atleast getting it to stick around.
I mean, from what I've heard the code team used to be literally just him during the release of BOTI, and now it has people that can do all kinds of magic shit.
>>
>>2383042
Oh also from the few rumors I've heard, the lead coder is apparently also the person in charge of PR, or atleast talking to YouTubers and other mods n shit.

Crazy how Requiem was the mod that managed to limit how bad Fives sperging can get.
>>
>>2383046
if the team lead is a sperg, why haven't they removed him yet then?
>>
>>2383046
I think the stuff with Five was just growing pains when he became a lead and the mod hadn't found a good structure yet. It's pretty common when something blows up. Also I don't know if the coder is in charge of PR but I've seen him in YT comments responding to Requiem videos so at least he does outreach.

Really if TNO had just focused a bit more on regular game features and tried to be friendlier with third parties that mod would still be in a decent state. Call it copium but maybe they can right the ship after Iberia. I doubt it'll happen with the current leadership, but it's at least possible as long as those people either change or step down.
>>
>>2383052
Guess he stopped being a sperg.
>>
>>2382981
>>2382611

You two should consider joining Requiem ngl
ATP its basically evolved into a haven for ex-TNO devs that TNO knows it cant touch, because thats the most surefire way to have it get strewn across the entire HOI4 modding scene.
Like from what I know Requiem has people that are large in basically every major mods community. EAW? TFR? OWB? KR? All of those have atleast one person with a direct link to both Requiem and the major mod.

>>2383052
Why risk drama inside the mod when you can just constrain someone?

>>2383053
Yeah thats why I emphasised that its rumors. Theres hints here and there that they might be true, but who knows.
>>
>>2383057
Does it really matter if he's in charge of it? The important thing is that you have devs doing normal outreach to people. Again: TNO itself would be in a much better place if they just had devs occasionally just be friendly with the wider community and people who make content like videos or submods. Instead they cause shit shows like when QPQ got himself banned from EaW for being a retard.

yea, ik its a hot take on this thread but i never rly minded corn, he was one of the few team admins who wasnt entirely incompetent and pulled his own weight rather than drafting some retarded plan and then offloading it onto some high school student to implement
>>
>>2383214
I don't think it's that hot of a take. Even the baker said that he was his favorite at one point. He was good joke fodder but ultimately didn't cause any actual damage to the mod. He simply continued his predecessor's rework plans and he himself managed to get Ukraine released. In hindsight it's clear too that most of the things people hated him for at the time like all the Russian war changes were from the Reich team anyway.
>>
>>2383214
I honestly wish some billionare just bought the Ip, got a bunch of jeets to finish up the mechanics but kept the same writers for the direction. And we could probably get tno along with a tfr integration done in like a year tops
>>
>>2383232

? do you mean something else
>>
>>2383260
Yes, sorry TFO, my bad. So basically have tfo integrated as a separate start date, but you can play regular tno up to the 90s if you really don't have a life
>>
>>2383262
That sounds fucking awful holy shit I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy.

playing tfo or playing up to the 90s? either way I wouldnt mind playing a single playthru for a month or so. I did the same with elden ring and I can usually bang out a single tno game in about 3 days or so. so playing to the 90s is like 2 weeks max if your just going home and playing for a couple hours after work

Requiem status?
TNO:RA status?
TNO status?
>>
>>2383485
>Requiem
They're releasing a new Russian unifier and updating some universal mechanics for Russia. You can read about it here: >>2383028
They seem to be doing OK.
>RA
They're making content for Dengist Speer and have been posting small teasers for it all over the thread. They seem to be trying to improve their quality and get more helpers so that it isn't just a few people doing everything.
>TNO
Iberia's been delayed for four months, the latest presumably being caused by a Ukraine rework being bolted onto the update after the last tag lead was purged/quit. Also, dozens of their WIP flowcharts and documents leaked. You can find all of them here by searching for "catbox", they're all over the place.

I don't want to seem like a shill for the others since I was actually looking forward to Iberia changing the narrative but TNO is just TNO.
>>
>>2383430
Yeah, but because they actually posted proof that they'd actually been doing work (focus trees and a shitload of teasers) at the end of last year I'm choosing to hope it comes out eventually.
>>
>>2383512
nayrt but I also just don't distrust Big Weld and his merry band. He may be wrong or off the mark but I don't think he intentionally lies and I don't think they just make things up or erase entire tags over clique drama like TNO does.

>>
>>2383530
That was TNOs fault iirc, he got caught up in the Italy thing and decided to leave modding altogether.
>>
>>2383540
Probably the reason why we are getting so many leaks recently too, he or those who knew him decided to get back at it in revenge. Its a shame that what seemed to be a very dedicated coder got retired cause of mangos bullshit.
Very weak from Big Weld to not try to defend his lead coder but I understand why you wouldnt want mango onto you next.
>>
>>2383521
Jesus fucking christ how hard is it for the devs to just say “hey just roll back to the previous update so we can patch this at a later date” Like it cannot be that humiliating to release an update for a previous version cause a dlc came out unexpectedly
>>
>>2383553
They should honestly just leak all the flowcharts and dev documents to the community cause I guarantee you they will get everything done mechanics and all by just making submods.

Tno should just be the mod that integrates community submods because the only justification for tno is to give content to the community which they can’t even do. You might as well just make it a community project at this point
>>
>>2383530
Not tryna shill for Requiem, but he shoulda just joined Requiem then.

I noticed another minor thing that puts Requiem above TNO, though it really genuinely is a super minor thing.

Requiem lets submods display themselves pretty prominently on their main discord server, and I think released submods get even more publicity?
In comparison, for base TNO to do this, you have to meet some silly requirements like letting TNO have access to your dev channels/server.

I think its genuinely insane how you can notice the core principles shine through just from this bit alone.
Requiem focuses on "Release something", base TNO focuses on "Eh, teasers is enough".
But at the same time, Requiem allows people to showoff their stuff more freely simply by existing, while TNO is more heavyhanded with that.

Very interesting how this reflects the mods themselves.
Requiem is less restrictive with what can be developed, while at the same time ensuring designers dont get rewarded for taking ages. (PICREL, thx to the anonymous source that sent this to me)
TNO meanwhile is incredibly restrictive with what can be developed, but is fine with shit taking genuine years.
>>
>>2383892
The acess to dev channels thing isn't just some silly requirement, they do it to so they can frame you for being some type of "-ist" whenever you step out of line or do some imaginary transgression against them. They did it just a few weeks ago on TCT, posting a whole Docs file with screenshotted messages taken out of context to their reddit to ban a whole team they didn't like.
>>
>>2383892
You forgot your picture man.
>>
>>2383892
It's not that complicated. Requiem's just a regular mod and they run their community like a lot of other mods do. TNO with its endless red tap, hierarchies and cliques is run more like a corporation or a political party.

What you say isn't all that new by the way it's been a trend ever since they promoted that Free France mod even before it was compatible with theirs. A bit of community positivity goes a long way.
>>
>>2383898
nayrt but the requirement to let a TNO higher up have access to submod teams and their dev channels predates the TCT clique taking over the mod. Even if everything's on the up and up do you really want these people to be able to read about the development processes of your team? You just know they're the type to share it well beyond that one observer.

>>2384165
Kerl and pape are both retarded in their own unique way. Unironically Jordan is probably best for long term stability as his party is hardcore anti gerentocracy as it prioritizes younger leadership who are generally more in tune with the mood of the german public

Papes changes are far too radical and will just cause domestic instability whereas Kehrls managerial state has little accountability to the german public and its needs and is generally inefficient as seen with managerial classes around the world today

Jordan’s vision creates a capable ruling class that prevents stagnancy internally while projecting dynamism internationally
>>
>>2384275
As a quick aside, generally speaking you want your leadership class to be around 30-65 years old, preferably toward the younger end of that spectrum. If your older than 65 well, Just look at how incompetent congress is, nuff said. Whereas having your leadership being very young, creates risks of rash decision making.
>>
Which devhell German leader is best for science? Kehrl?
>>
>>2384297
Goering. He has the Liger which no one else does and that makes him cooler.
>>
>>2384297
probably, That is what the flowchart says. But I dislike kehrl because spending more money than necessary on scientific pursuits is bad for germany in the cold war. Why? Because germany needs to gain the industrial capacity to rival the united states in order to win the cold war and every mark not spent on that pursuit gives the americans more power in the long run.

So basically every fuhrer that doesn’t gdp max hurts germany in the long run
>>
>>2384312
>germany needs to gain the industrial capacity to rival the united states in order to win the cold war
I wonder about that. By the time Kehrl would come to power (~1978), America would already be undergoing deindustrialization in OTL. If Speer reintegrates Germany into the world economy they'd probably follow the US's lead and focus more on services/white-collar work. Kehrl's investments in science and computerization would make that shift a lot less painful.
>>
>>2384337
nayrt but im not sure the deindustrialization will happen tnotl. The US cant relocate their production facilities to China as they did otl and the US-led OFN is much less industrialized than otl NATO which means these countries will buy solely from the US. I personally dont like technocrats cause they are far less ideologized than the party mainstream. They will import million pakis if it decreases the cost of labour.
>>
>>2384337
Deindustralization doesn’t happen in tno as japan and germany basically control the old world so america cant offshore jobs. Even in their own sphere, Its not like you can offshore jobs like manufacturing to Australia or canada since they are developed nations with high wages.

If anything the primary issue of america is keeping their own industry working as domestic labor costs will prevent growth in us industries. This actually happened otl in the auto industry where wages and benefits were simply too high for companies to afford, causing them to raise prices on their product to cover the cost which left them vulnerable to japanese and german manufacturers who could manufacture cheaper and produce more with less.

In the US i can imagine companies lobbying (or more accurately begging) to lower wages so they can actually compete and congress, not wanting to lower domestic wages in fear of electoral consequences, Allows for mass migration to solve the issue. This obviously causes problems and it’s very possible america could be at the state we’re in rn in the 1990s

Mind you this would make race relations a fucking nightmare and may lead to an unironic race war not so subtly prodded by the germans and japanese
>>
>>2384343
Probably russians but yeah They would do scummy shit like that.
Germany and europes domestic birth rate being higher than otl might prevent that, but the technocrats still probably do mass immigration. Speaking of birth rates, the nazi european birth rate gives them so much more of an edge compared to the US in the tno tl. You get all the advantages of cheap labor, none of the social turmoil and if things cost too much there is always the colonies as a release valve for social tension
>>
>>2384364
Im not sure if russians are capable to do the white mans job. Their consumer products were horrible even amongst other socialist economies within the Warsaw Pact. And now they are losing to China even on domestic market despite high tariffs.
And about birth rates im convinced that they wont be as high as you believe them to be. Government support and/or penalties doesnt cause the birth rate to increase. USSR tried to this and failed, Russia and Poland are trying to do it now and failing miserably.
>>
>>2384385
Russian birth rates would probably start rising soon after reunification, as the state gets itself back on its feet.
>>
>>2384385
It isn’t government support or penalties that promote the birth rate that is true, What does is culture and young men having opportunities to provide for women. In the pakt the media constantly promotes a culture of natalism, Children aren’t portrayed as a burden but as a status symbol and a gift. Women naturally orient themselves towards the social norm of any given society so if that society is aggressively pro natal, So will its women. Remember that women in the south were the most ardent supporters of segregation and apartheid when they were around.

Yes wealth does have in impact on the birth rate, People have less children when times are bad that is true. But western women weren’t having children when times were good either. That was caused by the social norm being feminist and career oriented rather than family oriented. They didn’t have children because the (((media))) told them it wasnt fashionable to have kids young, They told them to delay or just not have any. This is why there was a “autism epidemic” a lot of boomers had kids later in life which leads to spikes in birth defects like autism
>>
>>2384401
Plus women aren’t in the workforce (and even if they are, it’s probably part time and not enough to live alone) and birth control is banned, What else are women going to do? it’s not like feminism can catch on cause the media is controlled and even otl most women weren’t feminists. what about birth control you may ask? well the germans will just tell women that it makes them infertile and that its a jewish plot to make them spinsters. The women would eat that shit up because many were die hard nazis even otl
>>
>>2384401
>>2384419
Right, but you forgot about distinction between culture and realities on the ground. In 1939 the share of german women within the workforce was higher than both UKs and USs. It is virtually impossible for a developed nation to exclude women from the workforce and it wasnt the Hitler's goal. Historically speaking, there are only 2 situations when "tradwives" are possible: african level poverty when women are staying at home simply because there are no work for them outside of it or extremely rich families when husband can provide for the whole family. None of this applies to the middle class. And about birth control ban, im not sure it will exist. Come on, banning condoms will cause a massive unrest even amongst the most hardline nazis.
>>
>>2384450
It is hard to exclude women from the workforce true, But you can make sure their wages are lower and that they work less hours so they have to depend on a man to survive. Also when I was referring to birth control, I’m referring to the pill, Iuds and whatnot not condoms. Plus we already have an irl example of how effective nazi germanys natalism programs would be by just looking at communist romania. Decree 990 increased the TFR from 1.9 to 3.7 (an increase in tfr by almost 2 which is nuts) and this was in a communist state with a dysfunctional economy. You don’t even have to be as extreme as decree 990 to get a similar effect
>>
>>2384468
made a mistake it was decree 770 mistook it for the tax form lmao
>>
>>2384468
Women already had lower wages in Nazi Germany and they are still paid less otl despite the equal pay laws. If you mean the artificial handicapping it will cause a massive economical and societal unrest. As for working less hours, wouldnt that be just the form of exclusion? Someone still has to take her place. I just checked the decree you were talking about and wiki says it caused a short-lived spike by banning abortions. Abortions were already banned in Nazi Germany and are banned in otl Poland now so the said ban cant be a long-term solution as people will simply learn to use birth control like in the said case of Romania.

tell me about US industry and multipolarism anon
>>
>>2384700
Ok, so back to it, so as I was saying, the US industry's problem is that it can't really grow much and is generally rather stagnant. The new deal system relies on big business and big labor to prop it up; however, those two things would be a massive problem here. Big business stamps out competition with the government's tacit consent (because it's easier to deal with one big company than 40 small ones), and Big labor keeps wages unnaturally high. This causes domestic products to become much more expensive, as big companies have to raise prices to improve workers' compensation. As these companies gradually become an oligopoly, lobbying increases labor costs, and then the prices of goods go up. This will cause the economy to stagnate

The only real way to solve this problem is to deregulate the shit out of your internal market, allowing the market to create competitors and lower prices. Or you could open the borders to lower labor costs and relieve pressure on the system.

In the TNO tl, since the US can't offshore its jobs to foreign countries, what it has to do is bring foreigners to prop up the domestic industry. TLDR: The US triples down on mass immigration in order to compete to preserve the oligopoly.

Now this would be a disaster domestically, But I didn't touch upon the international consequences. Because if this happens, which it probably would, the Germans are going to have the biggest "I FUCKING TOLD YOU SO" in human history. The entire justification of the pakt is that the Americans are run by a Jewish cabal hellbent on turning Europe into a mixed-race hellhole, and the Americans pulling something like this would be the biggest vindication for nazi idelogy.

This is something the devs probably haven't thought out, but the more liberal and internationalist the US is, the more united the pakt becomes. So if the Americans want to actually liberate Europe, it would actually have to chud out and present itself as "the reasonable Germania."
>>
>>2384717
>Can't offshore jobs

Seems silly. In most cases they will have as options Mexico, the carribean, most of South America, then there's the what ifs like south Africa (cheap labor a plenty) and also India and then there's the chunks of Africa they can get if free France and South Africa win.
Seems to me in most outcomes there will be plenty of low labor cost places available for offshoring
>>

>America offshores jobs to Russia
>"It's unrealistic for there to be another war so soon."
>All Ford plants in western Russia bombed within days of the war breaking out
