>NOOOOO!!!!!! The game is too gamey!!!!!! It has to punish the player for having fun!!!!! Make the fun parts really really difficult!!!! Remove all the fun!!!
Do people make suggestions like these for your strategy games?

No, my game is the finest handcrafted autism and it has no fun included in the first place. In fact, it's not even a game, it's an interactive simulator. You don't play it, you run it. If for some reason you find yourself having fun, please open a ticket immediately so I can correct it.

Generally there's less autism in strategy games like that, or community makes harder shit. Oxce being a good example.

Only slightly similar thing is someone freaking out Anytime anyone doesn't appreciate nudity in piratez mod, outside that, strategy game people are either chill, or just abandon the game for something harder.

Yes, people defend the constant updates to punish expansion in EU5

I think there is an argument to be made to make better roadblocks against the player, especially for a game that wants to simulate historical realism where states rise and declined rather than just incrementally just built itself up the caveat is that that usually means taking control away from the player which nobody likes.

name ten games like this

Paradox games, from Stellaris to Hearts of Iron, are riddled with players like this
>>
>>2398653
>>2396421
>hmm, the game is trivially easy, can we make it more challenging
>WAHH, IT'S JUST A GAME! GAMES ARE SUPPOSED TO BE FUN!!
What if overcoming difficulty is what's fun for me? What then?

This is exactly how I felt playing CK2 with HIP.

>Make the fun parts really really difficult!!!!

HOMM3 mods, Mechcommander 2 mods, DOW1 "balance" patches, Dune 2 mods, Syndicate :American Revolt. usually just the fan modders.
>>
>>2398653
