I think paradox games should be fun and arcadey and not try to be simulations at all. Victoria 2 mindbroke Pdx and the community by having pops and actually being fun and they've been trying to chase thst ever since. Playing with modifiers and development in the silly map game is much better than cookie clicker gameplay as found in Vic 3 and Stellaris

The many provinces are a problem in Imperator Rome and EU5. It gets tedious to play after some time even if I like most of the mechanics. EU4 and Vic2 have the perfect scope.

btw when ck2 first implemented any sort of check for whether or not your dlc is legit via the launcher, you could run an older ck2 executable which assumed everything is 100% trustworthy by defaultit'd crash while loading and then you could enable the dlc in the launcher
