Also expansions are due for the internal policing and economic situation. Since HMMLR is still an issue, the government would have to approach it in 3 ways. the first would be to empower the british police against the left resistance which empowers the prags, and lowers popular discontent but strengthens the SOE and the non socialist resistance. The second would be to empower the black shirts and other fascist militias which would decrease resistance activity a small amount for both the SOE and left resistance but it would increase popular discontent. The third would be to use the BFC and the german garrison in counter insurgency measures which would decrease resistance more than the black shirts but would massively increase discontent and only strengthens the BFC As for economics there would also be 3, paths the pragmatists suggestion would be to remove and reduce restrictions on imports, lifting certain price controls and using indicative planning to direct foreign investors to invest in local companies. This would reduce unemployment, increase gdp growth, and help local companies. but this plan also causes inflation and further entrenches german corporations in the british economy The fascist proposal would be to preserve the restrictions on foreign investment, nationalize assets owned by german banks (with minor compensation) and creating state owned companies to compete with german firms. This plan does hurt economic growth but decreases unemployment more than the prags and results in less inflation due to price controls and less foreign capital flowing in (albeit there are more shortages) The aristocratic proposal is agrarian focused and allows german companies to do what they want in urban areas while hurting them in rural areas. This does basically nothing economically one way or another except increase agricultural development and keep gdp growth at the same level as game start

I think having the pragmatists start off is bad for two reasons: First, you would have to change the starting situation and remove ~2 years of content. Second, the pragmatists are the broadest of the factions ideologically, so you would probably need to add more paths to collab Britain to account for that (especially if the lore is changed to make the pragmatists larger and more powerful)
And also it would make it silly to have so many paths for the fascist BPP if they’re so weak compared to the pragmatists. I would flip it, so pragmatists first and then fascists, which would allow the pragmatists to still be more powerful than currently should they take power but still allow the fascist BPP to be dominant.

For one the european empires in our timeline voluntarily decolonized with instances like Algeria or Kenya being the exception rather than the rule. By contrast, DV has the empires attempt to hold on to their possessions for the sake of profit and pride which leads to way more conflicts. Moreover in dv, those conflicts can actually be won by the european colonizers since they have the backing of germany while in our timeline they had to go at it alone with both superpowers being against their efforts My attempts with the britain rework is an attempt to give the european powers more agency with they can do in africa just like germany who can implement a variety of policies in eastern europe
