Get in here, the DLCs will come out soon, discuss the games!
Which one are you most into, by god alone or silk and silver? Spreading Christianity to China will be meaningful now
>>2484819I wonder how the converter will handle all this
>>2484849Meanwhile adventurers are like a little bone in the ocean floor, hasn't been seen since the triassic...
>>2484817This is the chapter where we finally get to play the men with funny medieval hats
>>2484862Based
Play the overhauls this month and play them well, cause this shit will take a while to adapt. Godherja was out of commission for a year
>>2484868You can use a playset merger+manually rollback on Steam to preserve a campaign anon
>>2484884Speaking of playsets, anyone here playing AGOT with a collection of sorts? I'm used to playing just with the main piece, is it worth getting into submods or is it just bloating it?
>>2484817They really need to rework legitimacy, it's such a useless mechanic rn
How would /vst/ fix Celestial gameplay?
Been binge playing CK2 lately, mostly Byzantium runs but i want to do a pagan one as well. Any character recommendations for a pagan playthrough?
>>2484953>There's a whole ass dynasty legacy about legitimacy>It's completely fucking pointless because it's piss easy to get legitimacy
>>2485008It's a pretty slow start but starting as the count of Gotland is pretty relaxed, it lets you comfortably build up your province until the viking age start and then you're in a pretty solid position to do most anything. Starting in Bohemia is also pretty neat.
>>2485008>Any character recommendations for a pagan playthrough?Anybody in Iceland or Norway with the RICE mod because you get the colonization of Greenland struggle
>>2485054Harald Fairhair specifically is a good start because he's young with no kids and good stats/traits
>>2485008They got Haesteinn in that one?
Anyone here running More Bookmarks+?
>>2485051Both choices are interesting, to the point that i can't decide. I'll go with the easier start, which would be Bohemia if i'm not wrong.>>2485054Iceland sounds neat, i forgot the country even existed.>>2485073Idk :(
>>2485008I really like somewhere in the Baltics (granted, it's playing your home country for me).Basically, because there are different faiths everywhere, with a combination of big subjugation wars and holy wars you can get Baltic Empire in two characters very easily (much easier than Scandi, for example). Plus all your holy sites are in your Imperial borders or close by.And if Gardariki get into a bad war, you can usually very easily just subjugate them too.Con is your land is giga shit and you are prone to getting crusaded.
>>2484817Buy a fucking ad already
>>2485617>which would be Bohemia if i'm not wrong.Yep, they get seniority succession, good unique buildings (lots of mines), and good cultural traditions
>>2485008>Any character recommendations for a pagan playthrough? There's one norse lord north of Sweden after 12th century start datePretty fun to do revival when it's completely lost cause
>>2485795Is he feudal or a tribal, and can you play for more than 5 seconds without someone declaring holy war?
Is there a good North american mod? I'm literally on my knees after adding meso-america and the small part of Canada that we know the vikings visited. I'm fine with cannibalizing anything at this point.
>>2485991I don't know of any mod except for After The End and its various forks.
>>2485999Thanks, while a working map does fix that issue, I'm more dreading having to research and create a billion different native cultures in an attempt to keep it at least a tiny bit historically plausible.Truly the worst case of autism, as this is a private mod either way for my own amusement. Here's a screenshot of my map at the moment.
>>2484819honestly these two have been my most anticipated expansionsI wanted deeper religious content and merchant gameplay foreverI'll go with god alone for now as i've become obsessed with all the many religious doctrines, practices and heresy's of Christianity
>>2484819BGA for me ultimately. The history and struggles of the Church are extremely interesting for me and I think it will both open new ways to play and expand exisitng ones.Though also excited for SnS. Past campaigns I've really felt like there should be more peace content - developing the economy was ultimately very boring with the way it worked and you were driven to just keep waring because it was the only interesting thing. But with SnS hopefully that changes, and gives a bit more direction to wars also.Really looking forward to both
>>2486068Is this you?https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/threads/new-world-information-for-any-modders.1937383/
I bet I could count the amount of Abos that play CK3 with one hand
>>2485736Anon CK3 has steadily become Paradox second biggest game after HoI4
>>2486068>historically plausible.well that didnt deter paradox with sub sahara
did you know that theocratic mongolian vassals, as well as chruches didnt pay any form of physical tax to mongols? instead they had to pray for the good of the khan not in ck3 tho
>>2485991Extended timeline for EU4/5.
>>2486367Imperatorbros, our time has come!
can i transfer my save from this to euv?
>Started as a random mediocre Oghuz dude>Decided to take it slow, no Great Khan decision (the worst and most boring decision of all time), migrated toward the north of China, constantly pillaging and making tributaries at every stop.>Made tributaries of Korean kingdoms, vassalized some of the Chinese dukes, pillaged the Huangdi's capital at every chance, killed all the captured imperial family members, sped up the cycle to the division era.>Hybridized with the Han culture, moved into the conquered lands. Started eating Chinese kingdoms, captured an imperial seal, went celestial.>United China after one generation. My illiterate steppe warlords became perfect Confucian sages with 1-3rd merit ranks.>Despite being outsider conquerors, realm is too stable, no tension, no stakes. Everything became meaningless, boring and tedious. No court intrigues, no strong opposition to the outsiders, no backstabbing, huge rebellions simply nothing. And I lost my will to play again.
>>2485991>Is there a good North american mod?https://steamcommunity.com/workshop/filedetails/?l=finnish&id=2988222130There's a Mesoamerica mod but it hasn't been updated in a year
>build up an OP character after decades>he dies and I have to play as an hier that everyone hates, is in constant debt, and has shitty states>lose interest and stop playing How do i stop this from happening?
I dont have any DLCs, do i miss lot? Should i get some of them?
>>2486594Stop treating it as a game about a single character and treat it as a game about your culture, ie have a long term plan before you start.
i would advice people on how to deal with succession but i dont want paradox to nerf it, as they do with anything fun, all the time
>>2486600Paradox games are barren without dlcs
>>2486594Managing succession is part of the game
>>2486600Don’t buy any dlc, if you look at the store you’ll see an option to buy a subscription which gives you all the dlc for a month. You only ever play these games for a few weeks every 4 months anyway so paying 10 dollars for it every couple of months is better than buying 300 dollars worth of dlc. Or you can just pirate everything but I’m lazy
>>2486594Play immortal celibate characters and grow bored after becoming absurdly OP as a result of your immortality instead
>>2486611>Paradox games are barren without dlcsThis hasn't been true for over a decade. Old Paradox games got one or two expansions and they improved the game. Nu-Paradox incessantly bloats the game with an unending stream of garbage that makes the game worse than when it first came out. HOI4 was better in the early days before the DLC. EU4 was better in the early days before the DLC. Stellaris was better in the early days before the DLC. CK3 sucked when it came out, but the DLCs made it worse, etc.Just roll back to an older patch and stay there, it's more fun and a better experience.
>>2484817Is this shit playable now? It's been six years.
>>2486573Thanks for the tip but my mesoamerica already have more content than that mod so I'm content on that front at the moment, I'm more looking for info about pre contact north america, and to ease my workload for mods that deal with it.>>2486383I'll look into this.>>2486376That's true.>>2486204Not me, but that's an interesting thread. Thanks for showing it to me.
>>2486754No but maybe next year after feudal rework
some normies know about the first crusade, but nobody knows that before that there was crusade of the peasants, inspired by the the same bullshit that was aimed at knights, but unprepared, without supplies, 40000 people.
>>2486849Millions of people who read Slaughterhouse 5 “Or, The Children’s Crusade” know that
Adventurer mode is broken in fun ways. You can move 3 times faster on the map if you travel one barony at a time, and if you have a few prowess knights you can grind all martial perks in a couple months by sparring with them over and over in castle holdings. Any other fun stuff like this?
BWC mod is uphttps://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3795324986
>>2484819S&S because I enjoy playing feudal and think the econony rework will make holdings more funI mean I'm hyped that the Church will actually behave as an antagonistic, but necessary, organization to bring some internal balance to Christendom, but I don't think I'd ever want to play as the Pope with all of the power gaming nonsense they're pitching it as.
>>2486594Vampire rapist.
Y'all mind if a nigga plays a little CK3?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EIys_PZgqjQ
>>2485795>>2485855Erik the Heathen start, I'm doing pretty alright. I'm playing as the first heir I got now and I've already beaten the king of Sweden in a war where he wanted to revoke a title, after the truce I could possibly just claim the entire kingdom and hope I won't get fucked over by constant holy wars. My biggest issue so far is all the fucking pagans in Finland, my lands have become a battleground for all their gigantic levies and prepared invasions so I have to spend a ton of money defending my lands from constant sieges and looting because my liege is too inept to do it.
>>2487280been there done that the real way you supposed to colonize is via adventurer starting in your native land, otherwise how did he get there
>>2487292He didn't know Africa was a thing in the game when he played.
