I don't think there really has been that much rigging. Sure these days /vt/ is dominated by /pcg/ and /lig/ but those are threads for dozens of chuubas, so the fans per chuuba are low which reflects in the polls. /pcg/ also lost a lot of the oldfags who cared about events like this and is now mostly newfags and schizos. Liafags were always really hard into divegrass so it's not surprising that they come out in full force for this.
