>the whole point of vtubing is to stream with a virtual avatar>like 90% of vtubers are extremely cute irl anyways for what fucking purpose?
>>104172560The ones who are ugly irl do not make the cut with the new meta. It's hard to be ugly these days, especially for women
>>104172560>>99394683Please note that discussion should pertain to a VTuber's streams and content, and should not pertain to their real lives, relationships, or appearances ("IRL").
>>104172560>company made by the dude who pointed out niconico whores couldn't get an audience because they were fucking ugly and then hired them as vtubersyou're getting fooled by the few people who don't look like shit when they're caked in makeup, people wearing masks and people using filters to look decent in pictures
They want to be even cuter.
>>104172560those aren't mutually exclusive concepts
>>104172560Hiring ugly girls is a big liability.I'll droop my oshi on a whym if it gets leaked that she is ugly as sin. They don't need to be supermodels, but they at least need to be human looking. 7/10 at the bare minimum. Also, ugly girls don't know how to handle attention and tend to self-sabotage much more often.Furthermore, if one of them is ugly, there is a risk that the rest of her coworkers will also be ugly, which devalues the status of the group as a whole.
>>104172560You’re not going to be able to act cutesy and fun if you are ugly and weird. You won’t have the charisma and people will be able to tell. Some can make it because they understand marketing or how people work enough to pass through but most will not.
>>104173832This was Sana for me
>>104172560>Practical reasons:No need for extensive beauty routine, just turn the PC on and work through the frame from your girlfailure cave>Social reasons:Women police each other through cliques and care deeply about optics, harder to mob a cartoon avatar without outing yourself as a cartoon-avatar watcher>Entertainment bar-entry:Many introverted or ugly people who would previously be screened out on their looks or inability to perform in front of crowds, have an easier time breaking in by streaming from the comfort of a room in solitude
>>104172560Different audience.
>90%lmao, does he know?
>>104172560>90% of vtubers are extremely cute irl anywayslow standard simps are what are keeping this hobby down in the dumps
>>104172560I miss the OG nene outfit
>>10417256099% of the holomem are probably introvert ugly woman.
>>104176551>t. ourist
>>104172560In Japan your CV has a photo on it.
>>104172560>the whole point of vtubing is to stream with a virtual avatarYou already answered your own question
>>104172560the phenomenon is average women are attractive
>>104172560Because puppets are fun. See: Mystery Science Theater 3000, Crank Yankers, The Dark Crystal, Mystic Kids Funtime, etc.
I should not have to explain the appeal of remaining relatively anonymous to a 4chan user.
>>104181162i think they are complaining more about the ones that don't, like the many that actively announce their real appearance and show up to conventions and stuff in person
Vtubing requires you to play a character, often for several hours at a time, all while being able to maintain a conversation that is entertaining to the people watching you. Most people who are able to do that are already good conversationalists and sociable IRL, and most people who are sociable IRL are at least moderately attractive because being ugly IRL is an impediment to being sociable. It's like asking why are most athletes good looking and popular, both your personality and physical traits as a whole tend to funnel you towards certain paths in life.
>>104172560Some are outright stunning, like Rushia, but having the separation of an avatar allows shy, pretty girls to be less nervous and more themselves (maybe not a good thing in Michael Cat's case, but it works to the benefit of most). It also, in some ways, makes you less personally objectified. You might put up with, or even encourage, Rule#34 of your avatar, but not many girls would put up with pornographic art of their real selves. Doesn't hurt that most vtubers are otaku of one brand or another, which is yet another motivation to stream as an anime girl. Also lurk moar. This is pretty common sense stuff around here.
>>104173041Faggot
>>104181668I don’t think rushia is that pretty? Am I the weird one here? Genuinely not my type at all
>>104182725Nah, she's not my type either. She's cute, but her photos are so heavily filtered that I probably don't actually know what she looks like. I bet she's cute enough without all of that.
>>104182804Maybe my opinion is colored by her cruel personality. She’s not a model either way but she is a genuinely mean spirited person and that matters more than everything else
>>104181844no he's right
>>104172560>for what fucking purpose? To stream without dealing with makeup/putting on a shirt.
>>104173041The mods are more likely to ban you than they are to enforce the rules, don't bother.
>>104172560discovering that ugly people are also ugly on the inside?
>>104183208>>104182804>>104182725Women or homosHer face is good but it's not the part we like
I wish Hololive eliminated the fat and ugly fans.
>>104181136>Crank YankersExcuse me?
