If I stream something might happen, if I don't, I keep stagnating the way I always have. And, for every joke about rape, there's people who actually care. That's hopeful to me, it proves that the world maybe isn't so bad and scary. The goal isn't to be a vtuber forever, it's to get over my fear. One day I'll graduate a better person, or, maybe I'll be worse off. Like anything, it's a coinflip, and there's always a chance.It feels nice to be cared about. I don't have that irl, and with the way things are now, I won't get over the fear that prevents me from getting past my issues. I've never been much for social media since you need a username to use social media, meaning people now have a name to your face and everything else you do. They can see every little interaction you have on the platform, for a schizophrenic person that's a little intimidating. These days a lot of social media determine whether or not you're a bot by taking a video of your face, I'm immediately out for that. People are gonna be dicks sometime, that's fine. The few friends I have and still talk to I found via /tg/ gamefinder threads back when they were a thing a billion years ago. I talked to many people, but only 2 of them really stuck. It's still worth the gamble if you ask me though. It's an anonymous website, you'll find people who anonymity appeals to and that comes in many different flavors. Sure, some people are weird and perverted, and yeah you can and probably should ignore them, but sometimes it's funny to interact. Anonymity appeals to anyone who doesn't want to be acknowledged, so it also appeals to people like me. It's a mixed bag, more often than not you'll find weirdos, but yaknow how it is ahahah
