sounds like a good game if she came back to it. i had a similar arc with many of my favourite novels, albums, films, and games. it's rewiring her brain, expanding her horizons, teaching her to enjoy games in a new way etc.it's a good sign as a viewer if it's a game you love imo. she's suffering so she can understand and have a greater appreciation for something that interests you.growth is a painful but rewarding struggle, OP. give it a try sometime.
