Not really. Political/griftubers and DARK HUMOR edglords either end up crashing and burning from getting exposed for some shit, or they're incredibly irrelevant compared to the rest of vtubing. Ignore them and they'll go away. As we saw with Akemi's sad attempt at an edgy vtuber group, people getting outraged and talking about it only made them more popular when their destruction was down to their own fuckups and stupidity. The shelf life of these types of vtubers are rarely long or lucrative.
