Being a fan of a vtuber in a corpo can get annoying at times if you literally only care about the one girl you're watching. When a girl's in a corpo there's an expectation from the other fans of that corpo to at least somewhat fit the mold of what they expect from vtubers in that corpo. I'm sure you've seen it at least to some extent no matter what corpo you watch. You have to deal with a lot of retarded fanbase infighting, comparisons with other girls in that corpo whether it be their numbers, how much they stream, their singing ability, their content, etc. If the girl you enjoy watching is part of a gen, maybe they'll be expected to always collab with a girl you hate, or maybe she'll have a secret falling out with another member and it will lead to constant speculation. You can never 100% trust any corpo you watch to be treating the girl you watch well either. NDAs and an expectation to protect the brand will always leave you in the dark about what things are truly like. I simply enjoy watching the indies I like do whatever they want in their own unique ways. I don't need to feel like I'm part of something bigger. If the girls I watch are happy and having fun, I'm happy and having fun.

I love my 2view indie oshi and I will choose her over any corpo.

here is what happens every time I try to watch indies and small corpos (that are functionally the same as indies), I start by looking up stuff I like and checking out the vtubers that have interacted with it.

at least one has some massive red flags (chud dog whistles, personal life details, etc.)
>check the content itself
of the remaining 4,
most of them stall for hours just reading and interacting with chats (that I don't care about)
at least one literally talks about her bf/husband on-stream
2 are audibly drunk or under the influence of some other substance and are thus completely checked out of whatever the stream was supposedly about
the one remaining girl that actually engages with the content constantly interrupts the flow of the stream to read sterile, reddit-tier one-liners from chat
