This is stuff i tested with my community and also received confirmation from other streamers that it was the same for them, but its all based on personal experience so take it with a grain of salt.1. Twitch is NOT not counting all lurkers. This is the most common thought by people but i do not believe it. It simply doesn't make sense based on the numbers and the way only some people are affected, so lurkers, don't be scared to lurk. In my experience, stuff like a 1 point redeem doesn't fIx the issue. It can up engagement, but the uncounted people stay uncounted2. Dont tab out. Again, all this stuff is personal experience and all so please take everything with a big grain of salt, but from what I've noticed, twitch is way more aggressive about counting untabed people since the new update. The safest bet to be counted if you wanna just support is tab on 2nd monitor with the browser muted, not the stream.3. MOST IMPORTANT I THINK. (classic disclaimer, grain of salt, bla bla) Im pretty sure ADDBLOCK USERS are no longer counted, rather than it being all lurkers. This fully explains why some people are less affected than others and why some chatters are not being counted either (hence many small streamers noticing they have more active chatters than viewers). Fun experiment for streamers, if you are someone that saw a big decline since august, check the percentage of web viewers vs mobile viewers you have. Chances are, your web percentage will be way bigger, because the new system fully favors mobile users (no adblocks). To viewers, we cant expect you to alter your viewing experience to such an extent, but if you really want to support with your view, this might unfortunatelly be a way.Thats all i know about this, feel free to test it out and see if you can bridge the gap between your uncounted chat users and the viewcount. Again, i am no twitch employee or coder or expert and all i say should be taken with a huge mountain of salt. I just tested this stuff by myself and, even tho not perfect, it gave some results for me. Managed to lower the gap from like 100 uncounted users every stream to 40-50>It's much simpler from my experience.1. One thing you have correct: Tab must be active and have focus. The moment you hear twitch being mute for a second is when the player switches from full stream to low quality stream and when it stops counting you.2. IRC Only don't count (e.g. Chatterino only users)3. Multitab Viewers. Don't know the exact number. Tests suggest maximum of 2 simulteanously running streams in active tabs count. 3+ not. We couldn't figure out yet if it nukes you from all streams as viewers or only the ones that are "too much".Adblocks did not reduce the view count.this is at least what we could find out and replicate a few times
