There are some that are ok, but as a whole there's so many that there's more hits then misses.Actually putting it like this one of the primary issues behind this manga IS the "1 want 100 friends!" shit because they keep adding and adding and adding and referencing characters you're not going to remember because they show up once every 30+ chapters that are spaced out weeks and expect you to remember them. And even if they try to remind you of their existence with notes saying "hey see chapter x" why the fuck would you go back that far for them? And BECAUSE they keep adding more and more characters with more and more quirks that are so wholly irrelevant because 99% of the times the character just fawn over Komi anyway. All but ONE character so far has shown anything negative towards Komi, and the one that has gets ignored for chapters on end. The rest rever her as a goddess and would take almost little effort to actually be "friends" with them if she just spoke up. And yes, that's the point, but it gets frustrating when all they do is just praise and praise and praise her.There was one arc that was tolerable because there was a girl who had just as much of an issue as Komi because her parents were away and she didn't really know how to talk to people. It was cute, and actually wholesome, and probably the best thing to come out of the manga.Then they decided to introduce Manbagi. Manbagi was a really cute girl, really nice, probably one of Komi's good friends outside of the 2 girls she went on a school trip with. She liked Tadano. While this wouldn't be much of an issue regularly, there's been countless hints that Komi liked Tadano and basically outright stated that Tadano likes Komi romantically. They actually unironically introduced a likeable character that you want to win, but that you KNOW is going to lose, and it just feels fucking terrible. Not only is it just that, they spread this love triangle for chapter upon chapter upon chapter upon chapter of side character garbage that you literally don't give a shit about. And sure, those chapters can be funny, but when you have Manbagi confessing to a sleeping Tadano (except he wasn't sleeping!) and literally nothing comes of it because he pretends to be sleeping and then it derails AGAIN by side character garbage where Komi STILL DOESN'T FUCKING MAKE ACTUAL FRIENDS BECAUSE THEY'RE STILL REVERING HER AS SOME GODDESS it goes form haha to please just get on with it. Komi and Manbagi realize they both like Tadano and have a friendly rivalry about it, except Manbagi knows she has no fucking chance so she cries during a fucking school festival when it finally hits her and it you just want to strangle Tadano.Then again, it goes on for chapters upon chapters upon chapters of side character bullshit comedy with almost repeated jokes, introducing new characters over and over again that you will either forget or just not care about. Until it finally comes to a heel and Manbagi actually fucking confesses like a normal person in a way that Tadano can't pretend to be asleep about. Tadano accepts her confession and agrees to go out with her like the fucking absolute ape that he is. Manbagi knows he's a fucking retarded people pleaser and actually questions whether it's ok and then just tells him to fuck off and go confess to Komi which he actually does. What happens after that? Maybe two chapters of them being all cutesy and then go back to Komi's bullshit 100 friends garbage in a new classroom with EVEN NEWER characters. And now it's back to the status quo. Comedy bullshit, maybe 1 lovey dovey moment every 6 chapters, and side characters you really don't care about who interfere without actually acting like normal people around Komi.The entire pacing of the manga is glacial paced while they add on new characters that Komi will eventually fucking befriend but the way she finally does when she does is pointless when no one actually dislikes her since it's a comedy. And even the one that actually disliked her is only because she's a fucking contrarian. You can literally skip dozens of chapters and nothing fucking changes in this manga because nothing of value happens maybe once every 80 chapters, and the jokes get stale after a while, like you can see just guess the punchline after a while.
