As you wish. Changing the post-lore blurb though. Still not anchoring it, as it's meant for the Historic Events and Developments hub.
__________
As the Nameless One's domain was civilization itself, there was a widespread belief across the Owl Republic that traces of Her influence could be found not only in /who/ but within all cultures and civilizations of the world. It was with this belief in mind that Parliament established the order of the Maybe Everywhere Scribes, a title that saw multiple abbreviations over the years until it was simply called the M.E.S.
M.E.S. agents, as they came to be known, traveled to foreign nations with their initial and primary objectives were to look through theological records of the nations they visited in search for mentions of the Nameless One as well as to catalog the general nature of their infrastructure and infrastructure. They would be stationed in their assigned foreign countries for a year on average, and the first few agents worked out of pocket, often working local jobs to make ends meet.
After returning to the Owl Republic, M.E.S. agents released their findings to Parliament, though they often gave minor teaser-esque anecdotes to their families ahead of time. At the beginning of the year, all reports were compiled into a summary that were distributed to the various temples across the republic which then relayed these reports to the greater populace.
There was never only one M.W.S. agent assigned to a given nation. Rather, each nation that had the M.E.S.'s interest was assigned the calculated minimum number of agents to maintain a constant international presence in a cycle of "travel to foreign nation, stay in foreign nation for one year, travel to /who/, stay in /who/ for minimum of one year".
Though not initially having their diplomatic authority, M.E.S. agents were often seen to be ambassadors, as their actions and behavior were seen by Hoomans back at home as reflective of /who/ as a whole. This was remedied not too long after the order was established to properly align the duties with the public's perception of them. The issue of their pay was also remedied to some extent, exempting M.E.S. agents from /who/ ship travel fees and providing them a stipend to ostensibly help sustain them financially during their time abroad. As the M.E.S. grew in perceived importance, so too did the standards by which a Hooman could be considered fit to serve as an agent. Initially allowing volunteers, it eventually came to be that only the best of the best mentally should be allowed to join. As one of the perceived prerequisites was a deep understanding of the Nameless One's role in the greater Holo Pantheon, /who/ temples became training grounds of sorts. Indeed, most M.E.S. agents deemed too old to go abroad (sometimes referred to as "sore in the foot") spent the rest of their professional years at the temples training prospective recruits and otherwise serving as archivists or other advisory roles to the Morbs.
When news came of the Nameless One's impending apothnitosis, the duties of the M.E.S. faced a great change: agents not en route to or active in a foreign nation, as well as all agents in training, were given the responsibility of trawling through the archives and determining which were worth being catalogued in the Republic's final years. (more on that in a different loredump)
After Her apothnitosis, the M.E.S. largely ceased to be. Though a select few still volunteered to travel to the remaining Promise nations, the lack of centralized funding for the practice combined with the belief that the Nameless One no longer had any meaningful influence on the greater Holo Pantheon led to this practice dwindling sharply in the early years of /who/'s third age.
Therefore, the former M.E.S. agents' focus turned inward and they took advantage of their ambassadorial reputation to serve such a role on an intranational level to keep the now disparate and disconnected towns of /who/ together. Thus, the M.E.S. became the first batch of what would be known as the Aves (or Skols, for those living near the Strait of Scotos).

Even though I abandoned the plan to draw an image for this, I did save the incomplete (never to be finished) draft if the rest of the thread wants to see it. As a heads up, it's basically picrel but a SOVLful and partly colored femhooman whose sleeves I forgot to add until it was too late.
Debating whether it would make more sense for a Taranchama-themed spider to have a symbiotic or parasitic relationship with pigs. May approach Haachama World for their input after I've cleared up my backlog somewhat.
Speaking of, up next from me will likely be another Letter, followed by either terrestrial specbio, a return to fleshing out "Concerning Hoomans", or a chronicle of growing tolerance regarding discussion of the Pink Angel.

I don't know if there's a word for their initial purpose, but the M.E.S. were initially mythology tourists before they gradually became semi-ambassadors. They were meant to document information about foreign cultures and mythos to see if/how the Nameless One influenced or otherwise was connected to them.
On another note, when checking dictionary.com to see if any of the possible definitions of hermit apply to what they do, I found this:
>a spiced molasses cookie often containing raisins or nuts.
Not relevant, just thought I'd share it.
