I made sure to thank REM a bunch for inviting her, since she's kinda insecure about her singing, so being invited to that sort of thing is extremely important to her. Fuck those guys then. Her singing isn't particularly technical and her projection isn't strong, but she has a very cute voice and hits notes well. I feel like if she just did more lung training she'd be insane at it, she's nerfed heavily by having obviously small lung capacity and not being able to project strongly, likely because she's so quiet and has never had opportunities to turn up her volume.

Not true, she is a good singer, she's just hanging out with a bunch of girls who are professionally trained for half a decade on average, versus her 6 months of tutoring. I did some singing growing up as part of my local choir, so I think I have a little bit of unique input here. Trying to do empty praise like some (keyword: SOME) are doing does not help. You have to respect her intelligence and realize she KNOWS that her singing was bad. That's fine. Everyone is bad starting out. Saying shit like "her amateur singing actually has SOVL!" or "she is a good singer but everyone else is TOO GOOD" doesn't respect her ability to take criticism. From personal experience, it makes you feel like you are a child and actually makes you more likely to want to quit.

I'm glad that Pillow recognises and dislikes empty praise; that shows her humility. I understand how annoying it must be, so I try to be sincere in my comments, but I always look for something positive to say because I want to encourage her.
I really do enjoy her singing. It isn't technically very good yet, but there's a genuine quality to it that distinguishes it from bad singing that's unpleasant to listen to. It's hard to describe, but the phrase that comes to mind is "endearingly childlike".
I admire her courage to perform alongside talented singers despite her lack of confidence and awareness of her flaws. I want her to get invited to more concerts. It's clear from how hard she tries that singing is important to her, so I never want her to stop because she thinks she isn't good enough, even if she doesn't become a highly skilled and successful singer.

One thing that she is really good at is ASMR. I'm listening to the VOD to go back to sleep.
