Regardless of that, Bayo3 is an alright game that unfortunately doesn't run well on the Switch. If you have a Switch 2 then the performance is evened out, with the side effect of cutscenes still being locked to 30 FPS as there is no Sw2 patch. I would personally say that the biggest problem with the game is having too many cooks in the kitchen. The original game idea and plot outline came from Kamiya; but Yusuke Miyata (the game's director) also came in to do the bulk of the actual story with some help from Yuya Jin and Akiteru Naka. It really comes out with the character writing where you can almost pick out the three different writers after a few hours into the game. From an art direction, gameplay, and music perspective it's a pretty solid character action game. My only real complaint is that Kamiya loves his goofy set-piece moments that are not reflective of the normal gameplay and Bayo3 has a lot of these in some half-baked implementations. For this though, I don't know if Kamiya or Miyata are specifically to blame as there isn't really a lot of good info out there about the games development. What we do know for sure is that the version we did get was basically the third restart of the game and only had about a year of actual dev time. That does sound really short but it's partly because tons of pre-production and assets could be carried over from their failed attempts.
