It definitely is Expedition 33, because it just has a nice spin on turn based combat, but I will say, that just like like the argument between turn based and action which is dumb as shit, too many youngbloods thinking they know the history of RPGs and getting way too uppity when all E33 did is do what all devs have wanted and did with Rebirth and Metaphor, evolve party interaction in and out of battle. Hell, Scarlet Nexus had more battle mechanics, I'd praise it more in that instance than E33, but E33 had great story and music to deserve its spot.

Metaphor and Rebirth got robbed last year when everyone knows people played the shit out of both of them, and had enormous fun but then acted like they didn't in Rebirth's case but that is the traditional FF fandom schizophrenia. Also Brigitta, Catherina, Hulkenberg, amd Eupha were hot as fuck, that is all. I want EN to go back to Rebirth and Metaphor dammit. We completely skipped that arc but doubtful they all haven't played them. So probably out of luck there.
