Well /vt/?
yeah
I only watch clips under 20 seconds long.
>>106817170I sure do. I've been slowly picking up things over the years
>>106817170
>>106817170of course
>>106817243Fucking based.
>>106817170I am become Japanese
They've been teaching me Japanese. Does that count?
>>106817170Already had a slight grasp on the language from anime, so I could already understand a bit. But since I've started watching vtubers i've become noticably better. Collabs with 3+ people are still tough though.
>>106817613>They've been teaching me Japanese. Does that count?Same here, I am learning everything I need to know about speaking japanese from watching Miko.
>>106818903>learning jp from miko
I did my reps 2 decades ago and it paid off huge
>>106817170Most of the people here don't even understand English
>>106817170I think I would like to marry and impregnate this sheep
Yeah, as long as it isn't a zatsu I'm good, know enough to handle myself as long as I know the context but otherwise...
>>106817170Yes, but it depends on what they're doing. Some games, especially platformers IMO, are fun to watch no matter what language they're in.
>>106817170There's this one dork I watch called Nagi Okamoto from exvsj's nova team. She's still got a lot of distance to cover with her English but it's just enough above the threshold to tell her stuff in English such as encouragement during a horror game and telling her that Richie is just short for Richard. Plus it keeps going up with the number of collabs she's doing with EN chubbas
>>106817170Yeah, I only understand about 10% of my oshi so far, but I'm still working on my JP
Not Watame specifically but there are a few vtubers I watch basically just because I like listening to their voice.
>>106817170I can kind of understand what's going on. the jap language continues to melt my brain
>>106821669>>106821745Same here, don't care much for chatting streams, but when they're doing somehting there's clear context for like vidya then it's fine.
>>106825051Based
>>106817170Ill watch the VOD if it has auto subtitles. Its gotten better to the point i can usually follow whats being said. its pretty much the only vtuber content I watch these days. return to what got me interested in the first place.
>>106817170I'm at the point I can get the topics discussed if I pay attention, but not really if I'm doing something on the second monitor. It's good practice with headphones on while doing chores.
I’d rather learn a useful language like Based Chinese than Japanese.
>>106828950t.
>>106828950Sounds like west Taiwanese propaganda to me
>>106817170More I learned the less I liked my oshi. All that food talk. Jesus. Japanese really love food talk.
>>106829099it's true, it's all true
>>106817170no? why waste time
>>106825051I understand her cute giggles and catchphrase, and that's enough for me.
>>106818903same, but Okayu instead of Miko
>>106817170I did my reps for 3 years straight and then lost interestI'll say, talking to japanese 2 views really makes you sweat
>>106837543>talking to japanese 2 views really makes you sweatI wish it was easier. I can get what they're saying but when it comes to writing, my brain simply shuts down.
>>106837796At least 2 views can be patient with you because they don't have a choice when you're the only one chattingKeep trying, make small talk relevant to the stream
>>106823740I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Nagi went the Henya route. Being formerly in VShojo gave her a lot of connections with English vtubers, and as you said she knows enough English to be able to participate in EN collabs. Teaching a cute ESL Japanese girl English and watching her make funny mistakes due to misunderstandings or miscommunications is a timeless classic content wise, so she'll always get invited to stuff. When she participates in Mouse's Minecraft server in the future, that will only further incentivize her to learn English while making even more EN connections.
>>106837796Embrace it. Be the gaijin in chat with broken japanese.
>>106817170justlearn it
>>106817170i just watch en's, while it couldn't hurt to learn i get more out of my native language
>>106817170but i understand japanese and dont watchwhat am i
>>106848136Gay
>>106848551:(
>>106817195nice I've been looking for some more longplay clippers got any suggestions?
>>106839965
>>106839965tfw too focused on listening reps for 2025, at least I'm actually literate now and defeated the big bad kanji (for daily use anyways)2026 to be the year of listening reps and speaking reps, for sure. definitely.
>>106817170Well what?
>>106817170I don't need to understand Japanese to enjoy Watame's cute laughs and comfy attitude
