Sigh...the twitter and discord crowd simply can't fathom why some old Jailbirds are disappointed with Rissa. Their immediate defense is claiming everyone who disagrees with them is an anti/hater, there's absolutely no nuance to be found in this fandom. If we look at this 3D live it's been mostly disappointing if you're looking at it from a Rissa only fanview. If you're a Bloodraven stan or a general enjoyer of Advent/Justice, you got to see all these girls interact with eachother so you're probably satisfied. Now here's the problem old Jailbirds like me have with this 3D live; it's mostly lackluster and feels half-assed for most of it. Rissa relying and expecting her genmates to produce most of the content in her own show is not something I consider as "hard working". My main issue is this: where's the growth? Where is the commitment to improve yourself and reach for the heavens? Rissa is gifted with an angelic voice, has a spot in Hololive, is being supported by many inside and outside the company. And yet what does she ultimately do with all of this? She squanders it, prefers to coast instead of improving. Would this be an issue if Rissa simply stated she prefers to coast and be lazy? No, not at all because fans can decide to either stay or leave for someone else. But Rissa is never honest or genuine towards her fanbase, she continues to string them along telling everyone she's hard at work yet fails to deliver any results. She wants to be a singer, wants to be a VA, wants to have that anime opening MV, wants to have 1 million subsribers, wants to be loved. But what does she actually do to fulfill her wishes? Where's the hard work, the commitment to improve, listening to constructive criticism from fans and/or colleagues? Asking for honest advice from the older JP talents and listening to their stories of hardship to stay humble and learn from them. Genuinely striving to become better at her job is something that would accelerate achieving her dreams. Instead she dismisses any criticism, firm words of advice and simply prefers to stay in her safe twitter/discord bubble where nobody ever offers advice to actually grow as an artist or improve her career. They are attention seekers, nothing matters to them as long as they get their fix even at the cost of Rissa's own career. Fulfilling all her dreams will never come to fruition if she stays in this circle of yes-(wo)men. She needs to take back control, get serious about the job, ditch the sycophants and friends that do not want her to succeed and keep moving forward toward her goals. If none of what I just described interests her in any way, then that's fine. But be honest about it, be genuine, be authentic. Make sure everybody in the fanbase knows what the actual deal is so they can make an honest decision about the direction they've been presented with. I know this post will get lost in the void but I feel like I had to elaborate on a point of view many discard at first notice, to hopefully better understand where some of us are coming from. We're not haters or antis, we're simply disappointed and frustrated for not being met with honesty from Rissa's side. Now you may proceed in tearing this post to shreds while I'm simply lying in bed thinking about the potential top talent we just lost. Such a tragedy man, her choir voice can make even the strongest of men weep.

After reading back my post I'd like to mention a couple of things I did thoroughly enjoy. The first ten minutes of her 3D birthday were great, opening with a fantastic animatic with good VA followed up by a great cover sung very well. This is what I hoped for and it got delivered. Now sadly what followed is something that made the whole show fall apart somewhat mainly because of the length of the skit. It was 45 minutes of Rissa mostly sitting in a chair while her genmates tried to salvage what they could. This part of the show would have been better suited as an Advent 3D collab instead of a birthday. After this whole segment we finally get some singing again with the karaoke ending. Some fantastic covers were sung, sadly not with any JP talents which would have elevated the whole karaoke segment. I'm not a fan of Bloodraven at all so I didn't enjoy the little skit with ERB but the duet they did together was decent and harmless. Overall the 3D birthday wasn't what I thought it would be, especially after the opening starting so strong only for it to fizzle out and luckily near the end picking up again. So yes, there were definitely sections I enjoyed a lot. Thought I'd include them for completion's sake and to make if more fair and balanced as a whole.

I'll give you an honest answer. She is overly attached to ERB, and she does suffer from crippling self-esteem issues, but she has been trying to power through them. I'll always give credit where it is due (I do not particularly like ERB or Kiara, but I give respect as a person who did showchoir competitions when i was young for entertainers)and call bullshit where it is needed and Rissa has done a great deal. I could dress down a lot of Holomem failings but we would be here all day and I would rather not feed into the obvious Holo vs. Holo that goes on, particularly because since I saw the absolute seethe that went on from those Vtuber awards last year, there is way too much proof that has been shown from then to now that intense astroturfing, and rather petty shit has been directed against Hololive members including her. Needless to say, being harsh does not mean one is genuine.

Even when we had a huge amount of fun pre Breaking Dimensions, I saw the same timeloops I see now, she has given up(shows she struggles, but always wants to get better try other things), she won't visit or talk to other Holomem (she does all the time, helps them with stuff, talks with them privately, example being that Rissa gave Laplus the voice clips on her own and they got friendly, no management mandated stuff there), she hates us and only cares about Twitter fans (disingenuous, because no Holomem really says "I love /vt/ or any particular platform, and her first original was starring "us" but this timeloop was used even then), amongst so many easily disprovable things. From the start of this year she dealt with things and still went forward and I feel proud, not looking to nitpick everything. I appreciate your answers but I can't say I agree with most of them. The main issue I have with Rissa is her not being genuine at all. It all feels incredibly fake lately, especially when she addresses us with that VA tone. I really want to love this woman again but she makes it hard for me to believe in her. I don't feel pride anymore, mostly frustration and disappointment.

I know you won't believe me but I was a staunch defender of Rissa in the beginning. I thought she just needed to find her footing and learn the ropes of being in Hololive, so I gave her ample time to adjust even though I disliked her NijiEN and indie collabs. But now we've entered her third year in Hololive and she has actually regressed. I'm glad you're still optimistic but can you really fault us old fans for feeling the exact opposite? If you just look at the facts about total stream hours and general improvement she's lagging behind. Her last fortnite stream was the first time she streamed a game in 1080/60fps, something that should've been solved ages ago. We still don't have a fully functioning mocopi stream even though she has the whole kit. All these little things add up and we end up frustrated. The constant excuses and gaslighting is tiresome.
