I would say Pippa did it since she is the patient 0 of grifters. She is the one that show how profitable ir is to bring politics into vtubing. That lead to people like Kirsche or Leaflit (I know she predates Pippa but don't even try to argue she was political), SmugAlana who show how profitable "woman bad content" is and brought forward the legion of reaction slop from fleshies to vtubing and by being unhinged, Pippa also showed that a terrible reputation and drama gets LOTS of clicks (money) which cause all the catty highschool shit to skyrocket. Those people may have always been trash but they would keep it to themselves out of fear of losing viewers. With Pippa they learned "oh, if I'm openly a cunt not only I won't lose views, I get more!". This also brought retards like hero hei and show that the pipeline of lazyness got to a point that, you didn't even need to cause drama, just talking about it will suffice and thus, dramatubers were born. And the kicker? That discord leak that shows Pippa doesn't even believe any of that chud shit. She did it for the money. So even thou this word gets tossed around all the time, she ACTUALLY is a grifter. Since she is a woman I know she is gonna deflect all guilt from this I would really like to know how would someone that takes accountability would feel like when they realize "my mark on the world, is that I ruined western vtubing"

Golden Age actually ended with Councils debut and the rise of vshojo. Mumei had massive potential but was hampered by Sana and Fauna just viewing it as an easy way to make money, Bae (and iRys) being mediocre, and Kronii being her own worst enemy. It all went downhill fast from there
