Guess I'll be writing about toehounds after I'm finished with what I'm working on rn, given the curiosity. For now, I'll just say it's pretty much *the* /who/ pet. Loud, hates tar, serves as either a companion and aide to old and/or disabled Hoomans or as shepherds and guard animals on farms. As agreed in the prior year, the Hoosmoot of 114 was attended not only by an impressive combined 87 Aves and Skols but a total of 32 mayors and other local leadership figures whose towns directly contributed to the new city's development.* These additional figures were not allowed to vote on anything in the moot, but they were allowed to voice their opinions on issues (within the law) and raise issues themselves to be voted on.
Though there was talk of local developments in the form mentioning of smaller villages' intentions to move as a whole to the still-incomplete new city, most of the discussion had to do with the then-unnamed city. Records of the Hoosmoot show that the debate over what name to give to the new city took up the most time of all of the moot's discussion topics. Owlca, Pinkerton, Newton, Paramare, Eulhaven, and "Unnamed City" were among many proposed names, but after over half a day of arguments Tytopolis was eventually chosen to be the name voted on and was approved by a vote of 53 to 31.** Other city-related issues raised that saw approval (besides the ones approved the Premature Moot and brought forward), one of the more prominent of these being a unanimously-approved (with no abstentions) issue to create a series of roads leading to Tytopolis.
Perhaps the most important though was the topic of Tytopolis as the capital. After talks in which the non-Ave or Skal participants engaged in rigorous debate a consensus was reached to reestablish Parliament in much the same manner as was in the Owl Republic, with its members being elected by the citizens of the individual towns they represented. Parliament's initial members were determined in the moot to be the collective Ave's and Skol's of those towns. They and all future Parliament members were not permitted to serve more than one single one-year term in the office with the elections for the office being held and overseen by their requisite municipalities, and it was stated that they were expected to still carry out any inter-community diplomatic duties that came their way as required of an Ave/Skal. Otherwise, the roles and duties of Parliament members in Tytopolis were determined to be the same as what was required for them in the days of the Owl Republic.
The third topic that saw a lot of discussion pertained to the Pink One. Though it was still clear that she could never take the Nameless One's place as a subject of worship for more than one reason, her influence over the heavenly layer was growing to the point where Morbs became able to perceive omens from her specifically in greater number. This matter led to the passage of a bill some found contentious wherein Morbs and others would be allowed to provide live tellings of the Pink Angel's portents to satiate the Hooman public's growing fascination with her. Aside from this, formal discussion of her was shelved for the Moot with an agreement to arrange for Morbs and archivists to attend the next Hoosmoot.
Thus ended the Hoosmoot of 114, or as it would later be known, the Hoosmoot of S.T.*** 1. Though the purpose of it was made redundant by the reestablishment of Parliament, it was officially not /who/'s last formal Hoosmoot. The practice continued (exclusively in Tytopolis) until the Parliament chamber was completed.

So, it turns out the streaming activities picked up before I could write a full in-world year's worth of letters developing Tytopolis. I have a draft or two still composed somewhere and I don't see a need to not retroactively scrap it, but if/when I do post them they will be placed before the Hoosmoot of 114. I do hope to continue the rentry past this point as there's still a lot that needs done (library filled up, temple and adjoining structures built, harbor expanded, defenses increased, etc.) but anything after this Hoosmoot chronologically will likely look a bit more like the Loreli developments than the letters I've been dropping.

How would a hooman feel about salami in leek/nettles and potato soup as a spring treat? I know autumn has root vegetables, some late bloom berries, and grains. Just thinking of foraging meals.

Salami and other swine-based dishes will likely get a hard pass from any Hooman, even ones traveling abroad. Pretty much every pig in /who/ has at least one spider crawling on it at any given point in time, and some may even have a heart spider incubation nest somewhere on them. You could give a Hooman a dish made from a pig that was absolutely never in contact with a heart spider at any point in its life and he would still turn you down because the association was coded into his brain.
If there's a beef- or chicken-based alternative I'm sure Hoomans would be down to eat it after making sure the bird on the plate wasn't an owl.
I'll be frank with you, I'm pretty clueless when it comes to dishes so I've been leaving that part of Hooman culture untouched. I suppose it won't hurt to mention the crops and meats, though. Hoomans hunt for sport, but they definitely won't turn down cooking a bagged deer or owlbear and sharing it with the family/community. They like their meat more on the rare side, and seafood on its own is without doubt an acquired taste.
Hooman agriculture generally sticks to subsistence crops, namely wheat and potatoes. Local bakeries get creative with their pastry selections and often have "spoil the brat" items for the all-too-common occurrence of a Hoojisan "correcting" a fussy Hootie by buying something for him/her. There are other crops in /who/ but those rarely make up the bulk of a meal. Kiwis deserve a special mention as they're surprisingly popular dessert items. (meta: personally unsure if it makes more sense to say if they were initially imported from /uuu/ or /mep/)
I can see the blend of Hoomans living in Tytopolis trying out each other's specialties and blending them together to create new (to Hoomanity) dishes, but I can confidently say I don't have the culinary knowledge or expertise to do something like that justice. I'm open to suggestions like the one you just gave, though.
As for food in Tytopolis, I can say with confidence that it won't be an issue from N.S. 114/S.T. 1 onward. The communities that moved in brought their harvests with them and said harvests were surprisingly bountiful. That should probably be one of the subjects of the "added after the moot" letters, now that you bring it up. Prior to that, most Hoomans had enough experience foraging various "snack fruits" to keep them going while waiting for the fishing and hunting groups to bring back their hauls.
Again, though, I'm open to hearing out culinary and horticultural suggestions. Those are a couple of my weaker areas.

So pork is a no-go. Still if you have the land for it beef cattle is better. Hamburger will certainly be a culinary invention to look into. I'm not just talking about patties. I'm also talking about meat balls, meat sauces, crumble hamburg to put into pastas. Since you have a lot of wheat and eggs pasta dishes should be a natural invention as well. In fact dried pasta stores as well as wheat in cool dry places. And pasta is versatile enough it can be eaten in soups and sauces.

If you eat rare-medium well meats then bird is probably not a good idea. However Hoomans are owl people. So maybe salmonella doesn't affect them because of their different digestive systems. That said as for eating raw seafood that's nothing new. Fresh sushi and sashimi are very popular in Asian cultures. Even shellfish and mollusks.

Also if a non-hooman eats an owlbear it has to be cooked well done. A lot of meats are actually like this from bear to pork due to parasites.

Looks like the "rare > well" bit will be tossed out based on this info. I honestly only had that in there because IRL owls swallow their prey whole and I couldn't think of any other way to represent that, but then again not every aspect of owls needs to have a parallel in Hoomans. I certainly don't have anything written about them having a crushingly strong grip or having their ears are different heights of their heads. The notion of preferring their meat rare rather than well can join them in the worldbuilding shadow realm.

Having beaks would make things harder to chew. So cooking food rare makes sense because overcooked meat is chewy and tough. I messed up my country pork ribs last night. And they're chewy. Funny how cooking can backfire by making meat almost inedible before burning it.

I don't know the efficacy of pineapple enzymes vs. repeated furious smacks with a hammer or tenderizer vs. whatever other techniques there are, but maybe Hoomans could compensate for their weaker jaws by being extra thorough when tenderizing their meals (whatever their method may be) much like how the Japanese made up for their inferior iron by being more thorough smiths.
Owls IRL don't have them, but I suppose gastroliths may be an option for Hoomans.
One thing IRL owls do is spit up bones and other parts of their food they can't digest. Maybe we could argue that the problematic parts of the meat are expelled this way.
Or if all else fails, we could just rule that Hoomans' immune systems are just built different because magic or make some other handwave to work around the issue.

One would think that a nation with no active magic would be more on the techy end of the technology-mysticism scale, but here we are! I can't deny that there's more of a focus on the heavenly layer in Viti!/who/ than there is in Vibutia!/who/ but I can't help it! A nation whose people lost its main connection to the heavenly layer and are finding and embracing a being who may or may not have been a goddess in her own right in the past and may or may not (though almost certainly not) re-ascend to divine status is just too novel a concept to overlook!
That being said, the /who/ in my heart will always be a nation of bureaucratic amish shire cowboys. I suppose the end result of combining that concept with the above paragraph is something that lines up with your "nation of cryptids" appraisal. I currently don't have any plans to scale back my endeavors to write about the country's fantastical elements (as evidenced by the topics included in the divinity rentry since its creation) but I do admit I've been skipping past the more mundane day-to-day aspects of /who/ life and I should get back to that at some point.

Actually a lot of birds rip and tear flesh off their prey to eat it. But yeah tenderizing techniques and chemicals can work. Rough salt is a natural tenderizer as the moisture of the meat creates brine with the salt that softens the meat. When all else fails there's wet cooking with soups and stew.

Ok I know I am late but DND update. Black man barbarian wasn't there but everyone else was.

And thats it. 2 more sessions until contract is up and I ABSOLUTELY want to get them to Meeta's store by the end.
A few notes that I will add is that I told them very specifically that pissing off Meeta WILL HAVE THEIR SOULS STUFFED IN TEDDY BEARS so they better not get mad if it happens.
I also made a campaign page on DNDBeyond and have all the digital shit so they can play around with their character options now and inventories.
The girl also told me that MLP has a fucking card game? Ok cool. She also likes the old Teen Titans and thinks the new one is shit so shes based. Sadly I do not think I can groom her since I did ask if she was in college and she told me high school.....So obviously I am not going to groom a minor, but if she is 18 then I will think about it.
I still have yet to decide what powerful artifact Amoria wants, I was thinking about making it something related to Kokone as a sort of memory and tell them its a part of the dream goddess but feel free to leave suggestions.
I think the next contract I will show off /awat/ and tell them about /who/ (in my world /who/ was given a fucking AUG by the rogue who is now a paladin since player death) for options. They are really starting to ask me about the overall story and I want them to start thinking about who they want to side with. I will start doing WAR with nations very soon.

Quick refresher question: You did say you're using the Vitubia map, but I don't remember if you're using Viti lore. Which lore for your nations are you using? If it's Viti, lmk if there's any aspect of /who/ you'd like fleshed out. I'll get to it after the things I mentioned above.
For plotting out potential WAR, I feel I should mention that although volunteer militia units are common, recent developments have led to the population being stretched quite thin leaving the inland border areas more vulnerable to possible invasion.

Okay so Basalt is just a black rock and rhyolite cools too quickly to form crystals. Also due to how density work the lighter rhyolite would rise to the top while the heavier basalt sinks. So there would be no mixing of the lavas. There are no gemstones so mining is a bust. Which means we can proceed with heating the pipes and ejecting the lava.
