This I don’t get from Alana. It’s one thing to act like the Game Awards don’t matter and ignore them completely, that’s perfectly sensible. OK you've baited me, I'm reading about her game. Isn't Leaflit's whole thing that she wants blacksmith and other crafting classes to be viable but for some reason her own game has no tier 3 crafting classes... and it also has skills as well which are different than classes that use skill-like-things? AND it has specific create abilities which are separate to both crafting classes and skills.

Also she has good demons in her game (she likes demons now?) and Faeries but there is virtually 0 difference between them. Every ability I look at has a new keyword I've not seen yet, with no link to where it is defined or how to rule with it. Also I hate that special/magical/trick items are called Aritifice(s) and the skill to use them is also called Artifice... and the skill to interact with magical things is called "Magic" but that isn't the same thing as being able to cast magic abilities.

I'm like half way through the rule book and I cannot even tell how you're supposed to actually play the game or even resolve tests? Or even the procedure to buy abilities and classes? It's just a massive list of "Oh, and you can totally do this (somehow)" ad infinitum with no actual instruction on how to play the game.

also the whole crafting thing where you have to take crafting class players on campaigns with you comes from an old thing she used to do in her old scenarios where she would play non-combat roles into their scenarios and they would basically have to carry her through the scenario as some kind of VIP
in this ruleset you have to have someone who can extract materials from the scenarios themselves in order to survive and take it back to the town to use it in the same way
crafting is very convoluted but as far as i can see its mostly an honor system with some caveats? but you also have to have what you're able to craft for other players approved by either herself or ayra for certain things so it's not completely player independant either and you have to wait for that before you can craft something for another player, unless that has changed recently

D&D is crap but everyone who goes "I can fix it" makes even worse games. Her game actually takes far longer to play. It still has everything that is slow about D&D combat: initiative, accuracy checks and damage checks. But then the defender has to choose reactions (dodge/guard) and half the classes have subsystems with their own definitions and logging requirements you need to look up or memorize for all interactions.

the problem here is that she's created a PW (persistant world) where death is permanent and it operates as a hardcore ruleset for a ttrpg that has to be manually managed by either her or ayra to keep player information consistant
on this exact point, the turns actually take LONGER because they end up spending a ton of time trying to figure out the perfect scenario for the characters to engage so they don't get instantly killed rather than making combat flow better as a consequence of this format
