Because she sells her vtuber character narrative while she sings by adlibbing new lines in. Because she picks songs that also support the narrative. Kumu Cotton understands and delivers kino. Worse she probably can't even see the work Kumu is putting into arranging the narrative of her streams, because how do you quantify soul? >>107840752Opus is a really good codec. If the video you're grabbing has 251 Opus available, grab that and you're pretty much good. That format supposedly varies between 128 and 160kbps. That doesn't sound like much but it's a much more modern and efficient codec than MP3. Allegedly 128kbps Opus is better than 320kbps MP3 and basically transparent. For guaranteed transparency, it only needs 192kbps or so, so you save a lot of space compared to higher bitrate formats.

Assuming she's sending the same bit rate to YouTube, it stands to reason that they're storing a "master" that she sends somewhere and queue it up for encoding when she stops streaming, while distributing the 140 AAC while she's live for expedience and bandwidth.So basically, if you can, wait a couple of days before grabbing the VODs for best audio quality. You should end up with something much better than 320kbps MP3 for a fraction of the space, assuming your vtuber is sending a decent quality audio stream to YouTube in the first place.
