It was the single turning point on the NA side of Niji EN
after that Niji was forced to pretty much exit the market and chase the JP and CCN markets even with their EN vtubers.
Since then I have barely seen Niji cosplayers at cons, barely see their merch at artist alleys, they just exited the American Vtuber market entirely
It's probably a one off event because now every corpo knows to not let it get to that level, you need to take care of your talents and have managers who actively break up disputes between talents and not let people mix roles like Niji did with some talents acting like pseudo managers. They also know now to not do the retard shit Niji did where they actively tried to slander and sue a popular talent who just attempted suicide, which is the literal worst PR move you can make even if you're in the right.

Ironically, this has been a blessing in disguise for some of them. The obvious one isn't even Doki, but Mint. Doki and Selen seem somewhat equal in their content, audience size and the merch they move. Doki arguably has more merch opportunities. Pomu was always the girl who moved the most merch in Niji EN by far and compared to her, Mint actually has the opportunities to do so. Compared to Pomu, it's like Mint exploded in popularity. On a smaller scale, Sunny and Mogu exist now. Time will tell if Miki can thrive as well.
