Ame is definitely returning to Hololive but if she had major doubts that she might have to graduate forever she would have done more to build up the Dooby character brand. She would have streamed more frequently, would have hosted group VRChat events, and would have sold Dooby merch. Nimi Nightmare and Saba have both graduated from Hololive and their actions make sense for building up an indie character while it's Dooby that was the curious exception. I have zero trust in Cover, absolutely none, but I don't think management wants to lose money or to destroy their reputation in the EN market.

The sudden graduation with Sana, the 3 month "health" break with Ina (after telling viewers she didn't like revealing outfits), the double "health" breaks and graduations with Magni and Vesper, the years of malicious compliance with the EN branch skipping out on major holiday collabs, Cover "forgetting" to renew Ina's work visa, and the wave of EN graduations (Ame, Fauna, Mumei, and Gura). HoloEN doesn't need more bad news and if Ame really left it would move other talents closer to graduation. There is something curious going on with that Nexus gate portal and the lore might even connect with the Drawn to Dawn concert which does have the curious statement "the first lines of a new story".
