Well anyway Happy New Year Rissa! To you too jailbirds of /ope/. Hope you all had a good time moving into the New Year and that Nerissa had fun doing the Karaoke where everyone got to enjoy seeing her perform.
I had a good time moving into the new year with the closest ones I have in my life and the new good people they invited that I met. Nowadays I don't see them as often, which is life afterall, but the times I do and especially during this time I cherish every moment with them.
Like when we went up on the roof to watch the firework display that would happen at midnight, but before that many were at awe with the visible stars since they don't get seen so much.
Where we were the conditions were not perfect but it was good enough at least all the brightest stars and planets (Jupiter was clearly visible which I accurately identified to them) and a few others were visible so the main constellations patterns could easily be seen.
Yeah Astronomy and general stargazing are big time hobbies of mine. I nerded out a bit too much in my drunken state but I did dazzle them with my knowledge of the stars which they kept asking questions to ones they randomly pointed to me about. Told them about my favourite stars and the most interesting facts about them that were clearly visible in the sky like Betelgeuse in Orion and the Pleiades in Taurus.
