What does your country do to celebrate the beginning of a new year, or perhaps the end of the current year? Are there any festivities or traditions they partake in? If so, is it known what their origin is?Hoomans cap off their years by having "Summations", Parliament sessions where no legislation is discussed or voted on, but instead is done for each member of Parliament to describe in great detail the goings-on back in the towns they represent. After the Summation is concluded, manuscripts are provided to each member for them to bring back home so they can relay the events therein to their constituents.As for what the individual Hooman communities do on the final day of a given /who/ year, Morbs and archivists arrange for all-day c-tube performances involving parables and tales considered to be most important to that town's culture and history. Naturally, audience participation in these is strongly encouraged. Morb novices are usually inducted at the end of the year, and their first performances are typically somewhere in the marathon. The audience participation factor allows audience members to come on stage and bail out a novice if she struggles. Audience participation is expected to comprise of most of the town for much of the time, though the audience members (and the clergy members when not performing) often dip out when they can to partake in potlucks that commonly (and are expected to, but not required to) occur on the last day of the /who/ year.Oh, and for theological reasons, the current /who/ calendar begins on what other Holo Viti nations would consider the 23rd day of the 11th month.

There must be a a few nice shelves of each town's archives dedicated to summations going back many years.In Morijigoku, the year's end is celebrated during the night of the last New Moon of the year, in the Moon Burial festivals. It's a joyous occasion in all towns, even the smallest ones, where stalls with games, food and drink are setup in miniature pop-up towns. Deadbeats walk from activity to activity, and the festival is punctuated by a few concerts and magical demonstrations.

If you do follow through with it, one suggestion I'd like to make is to let them know immediately that the worldmap isn't the one from the start and it's a "wherever you want to be" system. The Dragoons at least were under the assumption we were still using the Vitubia map before I clarified it in a follow-up post.I do think we may be able to get at least a new map placement or two if one or some of us reached out and just asked, but I'm not sure if any of us going on a "hey do you want to place your thread in /vtwbg/" campaign would be a good idea as that might get the relevant posters flagged for spamming and/or advertising.If it's just one thread, though, and most of us /here/ are on board with it, then I suppose I don't see a problem with it if the invite was provided here for feedback first.
