It's infinitely more valuable to be provided hand drawn things even if they are artistically inept because when someone has to hand draw something, it reveals to you what they value and what they want because that's the part of the drawing that they will emphasize the most even subconsciously. They have to make deliberate choices which informs of you the things they want to see most and what they don't care about as much. Giving an artist AI slop tells them nothing, you are genuinely better off giving the artist the actual prompt you wrote into the slop generator because it will actually show your intentions and what you want to see.

Anon I don’t know of many vtuber artists drawing with analog materials. It seems like it would make the work of cutting for models much harder if they drew them on paper with analog materials. In my experience the art has been almost entirely digital. The bases of my argument are perfectly equivocal. The creation of a piece of digital artwork and the creation of a piece of digital artwork. The tools use may differ. The effort by human hands may differ. But the product of a vtuber design remains the same whether it is drawn on a drawing pad by a human hand or generated by an AI model.

What is your content creation schedule? I.e. how much are you uploading and to where. I would expect nothing less than at least 1 tweet per day not including go-live tweets, a short per week, some form of other long form content every month at a minimum.

What is your brand? I.e., if I just tuned into any random single minute of your stream, what should I expect to see?

Most importantly of all, why would anyone actually want to watch you?

This is the male vtuber trap. Girls are naturally advantaged in vtubing, everybody knows it, nobody wants to acknowledge it, and whining about it won’t help you. To be a male vtuber is probably an order of magnitude more difficult (not hyperbole, it’s probably ten times easier as a female) and so to achieve anything close to a female vtuber, you need to put in exponentially more effort. So many guys fall into the pit of “Once I get an audience I’ll do X and Y” because they are using the female vtuber blueprint.


Girls can just stream and kind of just trip into success if they’re reasonably lucky. Males can’t do that but so many guys watch female vtubers and try to either consciously or subconsciously copy them without realising you’re not playing the same game as them. You can’t use their rules. As a male vtuber you fucking need a plan, you need to understand your audience, you need to FUCKING WORK if you want to be successful. Waiting around for the luck bus to finally hit you won’t work.

Networking here is hit and miss, you’ll find people who’ve already got their boost from asp and have pulled the ladder up while others are truly NGMI, best bet is to just watch vtubers in categories you want to work in. (Like retro if you plan on playing retro games) and interact with them while live or on twitter, watching them live will give you a way better idea of whether or not they’ll actually be a good fit for you to network with and collab with eventually.

males have it harder in general in the space, but a good rule of thumb is don't stream stuff that is over saturated if you are bellow 20avg nobody will find you. It's unfair but it's how it works, I get a lot more ppl and even twitch recommending my Chanel than a few months ago.
Work on things you can change maybe improve mic quality or have a consistent schedule, that's what got me to get my boost
