Let us choose how much money we want to contribute.
I have multiple creators that I'd like to support, but they'd add up to a 30€/month bill, which doesn't work out for my broke ass.

That way gifted memberships are more easily gained and tier 2 members streams are not necessarily invaded by poorfags.

Member streams should only be $1.99, instead Hololive should incentivise people buying merch or other ways to give them more of a cut.
Selling a stupid pin for $7, with a materials cost of $2, could let Hololive rake in 60% and vtuber 40% and both parties would make more than having a $5 membership fee.
>>
>>108346145
Without Youtube's cut, how will YouTube make money to keep afloat?

Based and true. Or just not be retarded and give vtubers your money. Both work.
>>
>>108346042
Or go and choose cheaper ones. Some Holomems have dirt cheap memberships.
>>

>paying for meme ships
>when youtube takes 30% of their income
>when you could be buying merch instead which lets you support your oshi, the money goes straight to them (and the company) and gives you an actual physical product
>>
You say this but it would immediately draw ire as them being money grubbers by having cheaper tiers for emotes only. Remember it's not just tiers for the sake of it but you also need to break up the benefits. If you can't afford the yearly price tag then just buy merch from them instead once a year. It makes sure YouTube gets no cut of your money.

Fuck that, shipping fees to Europe were insane last I checked.
Also, I hate merch. I like to keep my room as empty as possible, I fucking hate clutter.
>>
>>108346301
The problem with this is people like CC or Shiori, who have the basic membership tier with a few more tiers and yet they do absolute jackshit for them, there's no benefit whatsoever for having a higher tier membership.
>>
>>108346301
That's not how it works.
Gifts always go to the tier closest to $5
>>
>>108346403
Not in this economy where you pay more to get less for every single thing.
Youtube subs are on the cheaper side, but it adds up.
>>
>>108346257
Not my problem.
Maybe they should've thought about it before they kept bleeding money for a decade while strongarming competition out of the market by offering things they cannot feasibly support long term.

>>
>>108346042
What they should actually do is make a 5 dollar tier for emotes + member wallpapers and then a 6 dollar tier that also gets access to member streams
That way gifttards are not in the member streams
>>
>>108346583
Why is gatekeeping member streams so important to you? They get pirated anyway (unless they're a literal who)
>>
>>108346058
>If you're broke you shouldn't be watching vtubers.
Humans are not ants and we do need some way to relax but you shouldn't be giving Hololive money if you can't afford to waste it.

>>108346213
Generic merch gives little to a corpo vtuber and even cheap merch like acrylic stands has shipping and tariffs. $15 for the acrylic stand can easily cost $30 with maybe $1 going to the actual vtuber. 30 to 1 is a lot less than 3 to 1 so membership is the best way to give money to the content creator.
>>
>>108346315
Real streamers have offsite dono links so you can access paywalled content, minimize YT earnings, and still substantially support your oshi without buying acrylic stand/keychain #735
>>
>>108346213
>instead Hololive should incentivise people buying merch or other ways to give them more of a cut.
Do people actually buy like 100x voice packs just to give money to their oshi?

Genuinely curious, since it's a weird, but apparently best way to give her money.

Closest to $5 without going over. If you have a $2 tier and a $6 tier, the gifted memberships will be for the $2 tier.

>>

This is the only sensible route.
It gives you easy cheap route to loads of emote slots, and lets people use alt accounts easily to sub on said accounts for that reason.
Gifted auto-goes to nearest to $5 if I remember right.
You'd need $4-6 and a further "actual member" tier to weed out the gifties.

>>
>>108346042
Kinda related but the other day I found a random ASMR vtuber and I was shocked she had only one member tier at like 1USD. I didn't even know YouTube let them go that low. Just shows how greedy most vtubers are.

>>
They get my money if I think they give me enough of what I want. I've started and cancelled plenty of memberships because of what their content revolves around, and only buy merch when they really 'click' for their humor. Make me laugh, I'll give you some money.
>>
>>108380075
It's not just that. Chat is simply higher quality in general when everyone participating has spent money to be here.

I've been watching vtubers since 2018 and I have never, ever, ever and will never give a single cent to any of them. I'll let my paypiggies do it for me.

I rather buy a membership than a fucking plushy. I don't have a dungeon where i can hide that cringe stuff.
>>108346838
My Oshi is releasing 2 voice packs a month and i have been buying everyone of them but i'm not buying duplicates anymore, that's in the past.
>>
I will never understand how anyone can legit have a membership to a vtuber or any streamer in general. You don't need to pay any of them for the content they are giving. And if you say you want to support them that makes you a pathetic lonely fag thinking they are your real friend/gf.
>i-its only 5 dollars
Know what else is 5 dollars? Some game I never played on Steam. Or food. Or literally anything else I can buy for myself instead of giving to some stranger online that wouldn't even care if I am alive or dead. Unironically save your money and spend it on a real girl for real sex. This is not me caring about you, this is me poking the logical zone of your brain so you wake the fuck up.
>>
>>108346058
Donating to vtubers you mean.
>>
I have a few memberships at $5 per month. It's a trivial amount of money for me. I think I have like 3 right now but I've had as many as 6 before.

If it's a problem for you financially, just don't buy 'em, totally optional. The extra content is nice but no big deal generally. So I don't why some people are so bothered by it. I guess a lot of posters on this board live in countries where $5 USD is like an entire day's salary and I really can understand that, but just don't pay it then... If you're morally offended by the idea of a $5 per month subscription, you have no idea the profoundly retarded shit the average first worlder spends money on, probably more money than you make in a year, and you're better off not knowing.
>>
>>108392521
The thing is, if you have a $2 tier, you reinforce the idea of everyone only having to contribute a small amount of money to keep a vtuber afloat, lessening the burden somehow.
I know that this replacing a $6 tier with a $2 tier won't create 3 members instead of 1, but in an ideal world where it worked like that, the financial burden of the individual would be decreased.
