personally I find the assonance and consonance used in this song more elegant than normal rhyme. from a writer perspective it is harder to write something like this and have it sound good, it would be much easier to just use perfect rhyme

I was in a theatre recently, and behind me there were some kids with their fucking mom. Like 4 kids and a mother. It was an hour of "SIX SEVEN! SIX SEVEN!"
