Objectively, Shiori is a good example why sub count is not crucial. Beyond a certain point, there are diminishing returns on subs. They only provide one metric of potential viewers. Shiori's view counts are strong and her supas very strong. So not only is her comparatively low sub count not a big deal, it's probably desirable to her, as she likes to stay off the radar a bit. I would take it even further and point out that being undesirable /here/ is also favorable to her.
