you can't change the community problem when the community problems are a small clique who have pretty much total immunity, even if there were 100 new regulars and they drowned out the cliques, they would still be harassing people and shondo and the entire time that change is happening they're spending 16 hours a day fighting it. there is no bias or agenda, it's just a fact and it has been a fact for years now, Shondo's community is still shit and she has all the same problems because she keeps the same people who cause those problems around and protects them from the accountability of their actions whilst doing the opposite with the new people.
even with the GFE, a ton of those regulars sperged out about it and now they're right back to normal because they realized nothing actually would change, and nothing has.
At the end of the day when you're talking about moderated spaces, it's the moderation that has total control of the direction the community takes, and it's why Shondo's is so different from any of her friend's communties despite her basically constantly saying she wants the same thing, but she refuses to do anything but protect and do back flips for the people preventing it from being that way and she exerts all her energy on those people and leaves none of it for the new people either, who also deal with the constant toxicity and potential harassment and apathy from Shondo.
The fact of the matter is there's a reason nothing has changed in this regard for years, Shondo is preventing it from changing because she knows that means actually raising a hand against the clique groomers. When her community has been the exception in all of her peer's space, it doesn't matter how much Shondo talks about change on stream or in discord or says she's making changes behind the scenes or says the mods will be doing more going forward for the fifth time, if the same people keep staying protected and the new people thrown under the bus, then it will stay this way because the people being protected are the ones ultimately forcing it to be this way or they'll leave, and Shondo can't comprehend that these kinds of people don't actually care about her, in the same way she called her biggest anti's her biggest fans previously, like it was her fault or like they weren't always people who didn't care about her at the end of the day. She is incapable of recognizing transactional care and actual care and she's also primed (and been encouraged over theyears) to blame herself as well. It's just so much shit but ultimately at the end of the day Shondo is doing everything in her power to prevent change whilst saying the opposite, and until that changes then the next 3 years will be exactly the same in regards to the state of her gatekept and straight up harmful "community" of biggest-fans-ready-to-turn-antis (less than 10 people but they're the loudest and most manipulative)

I got to know Shondo from her funny clips on youtube years ago. Then I started coming here and watching her stream but the extreme parasocial hit me like a truck and really worsened my mental health alarmingly fast, so I dropped it as fast as I could.
