Most vtubers should want to be against AI, since AI vtubers could completely stomp them in terms of viewership and take away their jobs.

AI art is "wrong" when it's trained on people's works that they had no permission for.
It follows the same spirit of copyright that protects artistic designs, in that someone else using Pikachu in their own creative works can create a situation where someone can completely invalidate your work with very little effort.

Not really a surprise, anon. In fact, I'm pretty sure most people (both VTubers and fans) don't.
Just look at amount of likes / QRTs under AI arts. Either a lot of people don't care to look closely enough, or they simply don't care if something is AI as long as it looks aesthetically pleasing at a glance.

The main issue with AI art is that it makes it easy to generate porn of a woman. What is most suspicious is how many AI systems allow sexualization of real images when they have thousands of rules against wrongthink but sexually degrading women is allowed. Elon Musk wears a conservative mask but there are many indications his loyalty is with Satan.

>>108810474
>it's not like it's hard to tell it's AI
Bullshit, the AI generated art has improved massively in the last 5 years and that is why artists are freaking out so much. Companies and coomers won't hesitate to buy art from low cost AI server farms.
>>
>>108812891
Bullshit. I don't want remixed versions of someone else's smut. I want the real thing, made with care, love and attention to detail.
>>
>>108807992
Using AI to generate stuff in itself is a non-issue.
Claiming you made the image when you didn't is an issue, because it's simply not true.
Comparable to asking someone to draw an image according to your instructions, and then claiming the work is yours. It's not.
I'm not going to oppose AI images because they're here to stay. The only thing you need to do is be honest.

The issue occurs when you use someone else's art to train your model. If you use your own art? That's fine. If you pay for art and the people you are paying for know you are using it for that or it's under a license that allows it? Fine. If you just steal whatever art you can find? Go fuck yourself.
>>
>>108813539
Using that logic no work anyone has ever done has any value. You make a really good drink? Get fucked, it belongs to everyone. Build a building really well? Why do you want to get paid, it belongs to everyone.

Socialism (aka early-stage communism) is when the working class (proletariat) seizes the means of production from the bourgeoisie.
Communism comes later, after the bourgeoisie has been thoroughly destroyed, all class conflicts have been resolved and society has transitioned to a classless and moneyless state.

Its current implementation is effectively unmoderated in the way that it's used and with regard to its rate of resource consumption. Hating AI on general principle is a reasonable position given the current conditions.
>>
>>108818367
You could literally apply this to anything and sound just as retarded. It's not being a Luddite thinking that a machine that churns through resources to produce absolute dog shit is a bad thing. And considering the general population is also not adopting it...

Let me put it this way: You freaks tried to convince us all that NFTs were the fucking future and now your shitty apes have zero value.
>>
>>108819553
Funny thing about Luddites is that they weren't anti-tech across the board. They were rebelling against their exploitation by the owners of the machines that were reducing the value of their labor.
The true solution to this problem is to enforce collective ownership of those machines.

So is making a realistic sculpture out of human feces with only a hammer and chisel. And that would have more value.
>>
AI art is a form of free speech, it's actually hypocritical for artists to not defend it's use because the only reason art can exist at all is because of free speech.
>>
>>108820652

Not for fucking long they can't. It's a bubble. Microsoft is finding out first hand that feeding money into the generative AI abyss isn't actually generating equal amounts of improved productivity. Why else would their stock be down $100 in less than 6 months.

its making windows os into a thing where you ask the computer for something and it produces what you want. no more apps, no more tech support, no more browsing the internet. it just gets you from point A to Z immediately.
all these engineers and developers are just data points for the model at the end of the road

anon they can't even make the os do basic shit like print documents larger than five pages without eating half of them and then pissing itself

>>
>>108832231
today? no
in the future? yes

even as retarded as ai is today people are fooled by it, children use it a crutch, and most people rely on it to summarize shit they cant be assed to read

2 years ago it was making retarded smudged crayon drawings, today its being used to trick people into thinking a cosplayer is real, making artists seethe, and is the prominent voice over option for most slop content

you're delusional if you don't think it wont outpace jeet programmers, millennial quiet quitting engineers, and illiterate zoomers
>>
>>108832394
Photoshop was doing this more than 20 years ago and it didn't need an entire data center to run
AI *can* help you sift through large bodies of code and text and whatnot but you still need a human to confirm that it didn't lick a dozen electrical outlets on the way to producing its response to your promot
it has been massively overhyped in a last ditch effort to keep our sham economy afloat and you're a rube if you think otherwise
>>
>>108832541
again i'm not talking about ai today. ai today is still in its infancy
every year ai improves exponentially, every year humans get exponentially more retarded

computers have been replacing people over time.
>but you still need a human to confirm
this is a nice concept to think about for that. consider the amount of things in the past 10-20 years where the flip has happened. a human performs math and pulls on a computer to confirm its correct. a human writes something and calls upon a computer to validate the grammar/spelling. a human has a question but calls upon a computer to give a fact check.
speed, consistency, and accuracy eventually reach a point where it's better than man. it doesn't need to be perfect, humans aren't perfect neither, but eventually it will surpass people. the sad part is peoples' intelligence is trending downwards.
>>
>>108832811
>every year ai improves exponentially
they add a few thousand more monkeys on typewriters to churn through the hard drives full of shit that they don't own the rights to, the extra thousand monkeys produce marginally better results than the last iteration (which was largely the same, just with less monkeys) and that gets spun as "progress" so that we don't drag the billionaires down the highway at 90 MPH by their scrote hairs.

Are you sure? Because I definitely have been seeing more and more AI arts around (and those are only the ones my untrained eyes can tell). Professionals (mangaka, animation studios, gaming companies) also have been adopting generative AI to various extents in their works
(I'm limiting it to just the arts here, because generative AI in general encompasses way more than just arts)
>>
Cosplayers brought it on themselves by doing that disgusting eye makeup shit that makes them look like retards with birth defects. No one wants to see that so it's not surprising AI is replacing them. Not like all the cosplay whores don't use ai and makeup to hide reality anyways why is this different?
>>
>>108834686
Why is there always something wrong with the art? Why does the art always look like a copy of someone else's art style? You have no fucking clue what you're talking about.

>>108834703
Golly. I wonder if people also hate Generative AI being forced upon them as well. Maybe think for a fucking second.

>>108834742

>exponential growth
If there ever was a buzz word which buzzed the loudest. People said the same about NFTs, people said the same about cryptocurrency, it's all the same grift. Yeah there is some niche application for AI and it will get used, but betting your entire stock market on it is something that will only hurt you.
>>
>>108834814
It's funny how much women seethe at AI. They subconsciously know it's taking something from them but can't figure out what it is so they just lash out at AI for other reasons they can come up with.
>>
>>108835296
It's funny how much Indians love AI.
>>
>>108835186
The comparison to crypto or nfts is not really equivelant because AI stuff has already been adopted by the wider public and has produced a lot of actually useful things such as voice synthesis, translations, facial recognition etc. People keep seething so much at image generation and chatgpt that they kinda lose the plot.
Are companies throwing too much money without concerete plans at AI? Yeah.
Is AI going to actually have staying power unlike nfts or crypto? Yeah pretty likely.
>>
>>108835444
>this time the grift is different because it's slightly bigger

NFTs had mass adoption, every single celebrity from A list to D list had a NFT project. NFTs are still used in niche circles. Nearly everybody's investment portfolio these days contains come crypto.

For about 4 years now, we've been fed the exact same lines about AI, "Oh just wait it's going to be amazing." And we wait, and then it's another useless gimmick, AI peaked about 2 years ago in terms of it's growth in productivity. My point is that AI isn't going to be this revolutionary tool which is going to reshape the world like so many promise. It's not even real AI and it isn't even close to a general intelligence.

LLMs will have probably a slightly bigger impact than crypto and NFTs, but that is simply only because governments were fucking desperate to keep the infinite growth myth alive after the COVID collapse and fed every single dollar they could into this bubble. For how much money and proposed benefit AI is said to have and we just need to wait another [insert arbitrary time to keep interests but divert critics], the dividends have been lacking. It's the same shit with self-driving cars, just 2 more years, we promise. I personally don't see how AI can scale past it's current usefulness without another research breakthrough. People who pretend that it is only going to get exponentially smarter are people who think it's an actual Artificial Intelligence (in which case that assumption does makes sense) rather than just a unique computer program that has no ability to exponentially scale without exponential resource costs.

>>

Famous people are not the masses.
>>
>>108835574
I mean, let's not pretend that crypto or NFTs are even at the same adoption rate as AI tech. And LLMs are just one subset of AI.
But if you want to talk about benefits that AI has had, for example in my work it acts as a better search engine or can generate boiler plate code for me instead of me having to write it.
Other benefits are that AI enables people who can't draw to generate art and assets for themselves instead of being reliant on paying artists for it. I at least enjoy having more artwork available of more niche characters or genres when the other option would be not having any of that available or requiring me to pay someone to make it. Like I honestly just don't care how some image I fap to has been created. If I want to have a lot of images of Suisei stuck in a wall, I now can either generate them or look at the plethora of ones that someone has made.
>>
>>108836024
Then by that logic AI hasn't achieved mass adoption either.
>>
>>108836048
Seems to me like it has based on the people I see using it.
>>
>>108836045
I'm not saying that AI doesn't have benefits, but does it have the trillions of dollars worth of benefits? Does it have the quality to completely redefine how we live and work? That answer to both is no

I'm not sure. I think for at least the latter, it has the potential to do it. The tech we have right now is still at its early stages for sure, but it could start playing a huge role just like smartphones have.
>>
>>108806734
that's why it's important to encourage rampant and uncritical anti-AI sentiment in the populace. gen AI is ALWAYS slop, no matter how good it is. gives the proles an easy avenue to feel morally superior, and helps protects real artists at the same time.
>>
>>108836006

NOW you're catching on fuckboy.
>>
>>108836056
As someone who studies and trains these AI for my company, it's a grift current AI as it is has near 0 value. I would even say it has negative value. The entire framework as in the entire theory behind this tech is flawed and will never achieve what is being promised but since they poured trillions of dollars into it, no one wants to be the first to sink the ship.
>>
>>108836128
It just makes the anti-AI side look stupid. It's the same as calling all human created art slop no matter how it looks or is made. No one sane is going to take you seriously and you are left shouting platitudes in your own echo chamber.
There are good arguments against the use of AI, you should use them instead of making yourself look stupid

Not really? I don't expect humanity to be anything like it is now even in a thousand years.
>>
>>108836404
Why? Or is just your personal feelings which dictate if something is or isn’t in its early stages?

What sort of barriers and hurdles are currently stopping AI from full maturity and what does full maturity AI look like and how is that different from AI now?
>>
>>108836425
>what does full maturity AI look like
Hard to say but a major milestone would be an AI that can learn on the fly and simulate a person.
>What sort of barriers and hurdles are currently stopping AI from full maturity
The software needs a lot more work. Hardware could always be faster.
>>
>>108836547
So basically full maturity is an actual AI which has nothing to do with current AI technology.
So you don’t have any idea what you’re actually talking about.
Pop off retard-Kun
