Ear licking and tapping wouldn’t sound quite the same and the loss of the silicone ears would change the depth of sound. So would it increase quality? Depends on what you define quality within asmr. There might be less white noise from the rodes too since they are high quality bullet mics. I have thought about them in the past since I see there are some fancy separation bar stands for them. But it isn’t something I’d personally buy right now. If I were to magically have them appear in front of me along with some good but short xlr mics I would definitely put them into the mix because I do think they’d improve the sound quality for triggers done with phsyical props.

>>108821898I certainly think that would be the case, yes, it’s a much higher quality piece of equipment and from a much more reputable microphone brand. 3dio is a little gimmicky and not as high of quality as they could be for the price but it is the easiest way to break into a “better” sound with binaural/stereo audios after a blue yeti if you 1. Dont know any better and 2. Are looking to do contact ear licking I think the rest could have a higher quality with better equipment such as a matched pair of nt5s. That or the most expensive 3dio but I haven’t done enough reading to know the difference between that version and other mics since I don’t have that one. I am not 100% certain on this one but I have a feeling that plosives would sound better on nt5s because you don’t have a fake ear redirecting the wind from your mouth straight into the fake ear canal. But really the fact that the nt5s are connected with xlr cables and not a 3.5mm to dual 1/4” splitter cable such as the entry 3dio does… It should have an upgrade in sound both in quality and in balance. But most mics can sound great with the most settings. Why do you ask are you an aspiring ASMRtist?

If 400 is fine, do you have an audio interface or are you ready to spent 200+ on a dual input sound interface from a reputable brand? 3. Do you have xlr cables or do you need to spend a few more bucks getting two? If you are fine with spending that much money on a starter set up, by all means, go ahead. But in my opinion it’s always good to test the waters with asmr and find a used blue yeti for about 50 bucks USD and it should come with the usb cable. I always recommend testing out with the lowest cost first so that you don’t have equipment gathering dust if you end up not liking it. I know this was likely a troll response but I wanted to answer anyway because there could be someone that would benefit from such info if they happen to be reading.
