Aesthetically, it's as easy as using a vtubing app of your choice. Culturally, you have to make a few choices. How much are you gonna capitalize on the anonymity? What kind of content are you gonna focus on? Are you comfortable with people worshiping or being super critical of you? The more people who "oshi" you, I'd say you are more of a "legit" Vtuber. This basically means people think of you/your character a lot while you are not actively interacting with them.

if you really wanna start w vtubing get a premade or cheap customizable model or smth, or just do voice streaming to test the water and see if u like it. make clips, post to YouTube and tiktok a few times a week, ideally every day. make sure your clips have a hook to keep people watching in the first 3-4 seconds. most ppl that "watch" vtubers are just clipfags but you'll draw in some people to your streams through them.do what you like rather than what's popular. find your niche. try out a bunch of different stuff to see what you like most. make a schedule and stick to it. interact with chat. it's really not that hard if you actually enjoy it.
