Grannyvats is using a scoped rifle. If I had to guess it's mostly just to see better. Most vtubers these days seem to like pistols, and plasma. Grannyvats probably doesn't hate pistols, and plasma, but she does seem to rely on more traditional weapons from what I'm seeing. There are mods, and she is playing with DLC so there could be new weapons to see. Though it seems as though she's using the classic varmit rifle thus far. Grannyvats is traveling south west. Not really looking at the map. This style of travel is probably how she found the secret passage to helios from goodsprings. I have had similar experiences. My issue with this style of play is the crash sequence, but grannyvats seems confident that she can save often enough to avoid losing progress on what looks to be a no fast travel playthrough of Fallout New Vegas.
