It’s been five months since gymschizo “motivated” me to start going to the gym. The "customer" of a vtuber agency is not the viewer. The "customer" is the talent. They are providing services for the talent, in exchange for a portion of the talent's income.
So if a talent makes $200k/year, and you are taking 50%, you have to justify that whatever service you provide is worth $100k/year value. Otherwise they can just quit, and practically double their income.

This equation makes sense in Japan, because Japanese have some kind of insane corporate loyalty, and obsession with brand-names. So if you're not in a corporation they won't even watch you. But in the west, it makes little sense. You can leave the corpo, and keep almost all your viewers.
