Why did they think this was a good idea?

The concerts were pretty good imo

Because Cover Corporation is, at its core, a dogshit tech company, having released a crappy VR tennis game and an AR waifu photo app before debuting Sora as a vtuber to promote their AR waifu photo app, and despite stumbling into success as a vtubing agency incubator, the staff and upper management still have delusions of technical adequacy

Yagoo just bet on the wrong horse with Metaverse. Everyone knew, even at the time, that Meta had no future (at least as it relates to gaming). If it was just a normal UE or Unity game back then, with some simple combat and some genshin like exploration, they could have actually gotten something solid instead of just a gimmick. Maybe do character gachas to keep revenue up if it really picked up. Instead we got Temu Second Life, with nothing interesting to do other than the occasional concert. missed opportunity

It could be good if they tried to make it good. Kids love a good chatroom sandbox. The Hololive brand isn't even necessary and doesn't detract if they just made a good product.

Why do you retards keep talking about zuck like he owns the concept of metaverses?

It's not a bad idea, and holoplus is also not a bad idea if they could use them to claw back the 30% they lose to google. But it is a bad idea because they can't convert it into an actual place people want to advertise on, so it's basically just shareholder fodder.

Once they release the next pandemic around 2031, then it will make a lot of sense.

>Implying vtubing will survive after 2030

holoearth was very clearly trying to piggyback on meta. where else do you think they got the "inspiration" for it from, worlds.com?
>>

The app is after Sora not before, also the "Hololive app" is for watching streams and for vtubing

The virtual space for concerts is cool and absolutely a good idea. The rest? Yeah, you got me there.
