I'm surprised she kept it running this long. I thought she would have killed it off after Xmas so the server cost wouldn't roll over in January.

Keep in mind it’s also probably a lot of work she didn’t want to keep giving the mods. Having to do bug fixes, tend to griefers, provide support, take care of drama. The other day they even implemented a thing where you have to whitelist or something. The server was probably just a hassle on top of being expensive.

I was playing...
I was not there for the first one so I can't make a fair comparison, but this server felt neglected. Pillow did one hanging out discord stream in the first week and another for the Christmas event. Her teleporting behind and stalking piwwos was what kept me playing there. I coped with her trip making her busy and coped more a month after that. I see signs she left other houses of players that have only come on the first weeks to paste in their builds and wished that I had been a faster builder. I guess I'm simply disappointed in my own hopes. And I'm out of hope for a next one.

I have mixed feeling on the events. They became the only reason to be there, for both Pillow and Piwwos.
I'm more interested in how often she was in the first one casually to compare. The events became professional. I saw the corporate shit term "burnout" too much in a channel dedicated to a video game.

It followed the same pattern in the first one. Lots of initial casual attention with a dramatic decline to nothing over time. The purpose of the reset was to reinitialize the energy. The events did become what you described, but I (obviously) think that wasn't really the intention so much as a flawed series of assumptions causing unintended consequences

I think the unfortunate reality is that she’s just going to be more and more successful over time and that will come with costs. If you got attached to her early on because she was a parasocial girl who was always online and constantly in the Discord and stalking Piwwos, it’s going to hurt to realize she can’t really do that as much nowadays. It’s kinda like she was saying during her birthday stream, she feels a lot of pressure to make everything into some big official event, but I personally think most of her fans got into her because her charm is that she’s so casual and doesn’t feel like she’s got a whole staff on board. The MC server closed so early because it was too expensive, even if she lowered down the size of it, it was still rough on her wallet because it had a larger player count than the first one.
