The latter interpretation is extremely out of character for them and pretty much a betrayal of trust. The former is suboptimal to say the least, but not a dealbreaker for me.

I don't see any other option left than them being suspended again. Even if it were a personal emergency that had one of them rushed to the hospital or flying back to the NWP they would still have been more active on Twitter as there's two of them. They only said they were taking a break from streams not existing in hololive.
