Much shorter for some characters, see how doctors just decided to drop out mid session.I think it feels longer because when you have fun character interactions and new information and story, time flies. But angsty and guilty Eliza or S2 is actively running away from character interactions, she's just mostly doing normal boring merchant stuff, so the session feels longer, you don't have anything to grab your attention, you're nodding off. Trust the plan, she knows what she's doing. Next day is Nocturna, somebody HAS to confront her about this.

I think the start to S2 has been similar to how S1 started with it being pretty slow for the merchants and more of their normal day to day life but Eliza as a character being passively important is keeping her roped into the bigger happenings now.

We can even throw little coincidences into the pile of evidence such as her being completely uninjured through the S1 finale, it might be unintentional but to the actual characters it's pretty odd considering basically everyone else got injured. She also seems to be more Saltborn to a degree than Elliot based on what we've learnt these last two episodes, but I think that there's for sure been a focus on expanding their background this season compared to before. My weirdest thing with Eliza seems to be her almost complete lack of training or expertise in any field prior to becoming a merchant. We know Elliot taught her the merchant way but she hasn't really shown any other talents beside that. The broken sword used to be an idea but that seems to just be a family heirloom and her lack of combat training suggests there's nothing hidden there, and I doubt she'd have kept that hidden during the S1 finale. There could've been a chance she was just being raised a merchant's daughter and would've been married off to build connections but I think Elliot's arranged marriage being a thing kind of hurts that idea just from a narrative perspective. There might be nothing to this since I feel after the S1 finale she would've used any and all skills she had to go rescue Guin if it was possible but it's something that bugs me about her character.
