>>Concerning Hoomans - Courtship and Intimacy
The universal sign of initial interest among Hoomans is a phenomenon known as "getting lost", characterized by extensive amounts of continuous watching, even when others call out to the Hooman to get its attention. An infatuated couple can waste an entire day simply looking into each other's eyes, getting absolutely nothing done and even skipping meals and other duties. Any parents teaching their single-feather Hooties the family trades who notice them getting lost are held professionally responsible for any damages caused during this time, leading them to take physical action to snap their Hooties out of that state. Fully-fledged Hoomans lack a parental buffer, and so are expected to find a Hoot to date from a different profession for the sake of their job security.
Getting lost itself is not the only aspect of Hooman romance that proves to be very time-consuming. Dates are typically all-day affairs, with the couple engaging in multiple various activities. Said activities also take longer together than individually on average as the two lovebirds do various things that cause them to slow down in subtle ways.
Perhaps the most infamous instance of Hooman romance taking up more time than normal is intercourse. One thing foreigners who managed to approach a Hooman (male or female) for such an encounter have largely mentioned afterward that the Hooman in question was "never satisfied," regardless of how "drained/exhaused" they themselves were afterward. This is corroborated with the notorious 600 Hours survey conducted in O.R. 76 which found that the average Hooman marriage's honeymoon lasted 25 days on average and did not involve travel most of the time. Many a Hooman who talks about 600 Hours jokes that the numbers were lowballed on account of the fact that the survey was conducted during the Sugar Rush, a period that saw an unusual amount of marriages get annulled early only for the couples to remarry.
As for what happens in the bedroom, let it be known to never "let it out" in a Femhooman's chest fluff. Aside from that warning as well as the well-documented endurance, multiple sources have stated that Hooman tastes on this matter are "vanilla" for the most part, with experimental foreigners expressing disappointment in testimonials they don't do more with their disproportionately long legs. Just keep in mind that your partner will keep both eyes on you for as long as possible, regardless of position. 180 degree neck rotation allows for a couple to get lost, even in bed.
__________
I will not be answering any questions that have to do with Hooman reproduction. You may make whatever interpretations you wish on that matter.

Personally been weighing whether to retcon /who/'s numbering system to roman numerals for just dates (so 3/14/11 becomes III/IV/XI, for example) or if I should apply that to all numerals in all Viti /who/ documents (180 becomes CLXXX in the final paragraph of the above lore piece). Field Report URL will remain the same in this case, unless requested otherwise.
On a more tangible level, I'm starting to regret placing /who/ so far away from /awat/. I've been in the mood recently to do some map stuff and one look at it shows that a hypothetical "Kippu Road" (land) trade route between the two might be more trouble than it's worth. Ah well, sometimes things pan out and sometimes they don't.
As for constellations, I've been weighing whether to represent the Architects with a constellation of Pierce Brosnan (image would be provided by /ag/) or of the stone age "Venus figure". Will probably approach them with that offer/suggestion tomorrow.
Project's downtime has given me time to think about stuff. I like it!

Dodos have been bathing in the warm water warmed by volcanic activity. Perhaps the warm water relaxes their muscles. Especially their neck muscles that they use to help climb rocks.

So romantic... They really do like to watch.

fucking kek
>180 degree neck rotation allows for a couple to get lost, even in bed.
somehow horrifying, but I'm sure many are into that.
/awat/ is know for its trains, so maybe there's some cross-continental rail network, though that's a mighty long distance of unknown lands for that to be going through.
Did the nation enjoy Nimi's concert?

I'm not good at writing big events. My writing style doesn't lend itself to selling events like that as I don't consciously embellish stuff. Maybe in the future I could find the words to do it justice, but for now I suppose the most I can confidently say about the immediate in-world reaction among Hoomanity was celebration and revelry, as well as a temporary moratorium on the ban of works depicting imagery of the Pink One on the condition that Nimi (or whatever the world's name for her is) is featured with equal or greater prominence in such works. Many bakers also left out loaves of bread that night.
The fact that the pink orca was what appeared carries an interesting implication or two. Ignoring the obvious fact that it helps sell the connection between the Pink One, She Who Was Here Before, and orcas in the context of the setting, there's also the matter of what it could mean for the v-fluke orca populations. It isn't my place to dictate what goes on in foreign waters, but perhaps v-flukes have a migratory pattern from the Sea of Scotos to whatever the upper arrow in picrel points to. Worth noting that picrel was made with ship/boat travel in mind, where proximity to land is important. Natively marine life doesn't need nearly as many twists and turns. One hangup with this idea is that the distance may be a bit much, but whales have been reported to migrate in the upper four-digit kilometer range on a regular basis so depending on the scale this may be feasible. There's also the matter of how Hoomans could come to learn this given their lack of large vessels, but that could hypothetically be explained away by corroborating accounts of orcas seen in that gulf from the days of the Republic and putting two and two together.
That also leaves me wondering: has anyone written anything about puffins in Viti? I get the feeling that whatever Nimi's concert correlates to in Viti had a significant impact on their population. I'd be down to mention a large flock of them traveled through /who/ at least with no reported casualties on their or the Hoomans' end.

Um... uh...
How much does your nation trade with other nations, neighboring or otherwise? Who are these trading partners, and what is your people's main export?

Loreli has the archive but we're popular as an airship pit stop. I suppose we trade local fish and shellfish for other essentials. We do have the Aerodome for landing and repairs if you don't mind second hand ship parts.

I guess we can have a junkyard for retired ships. Would be a good source of firewood.
