Unfortunately true. Even if I think my some of my oshi's covers are actually better than the originals, I was not very whelmed by her original at all. (Her older original Fairy of Akiberse actually is an exception though, it's catchy and I find myself humming/singing it sometimes.)

For the most part, no. It's all music meant to focus on the woman singing, which in most cases means it's either generic or it sucks. Comes down to actual musical creativity not being rewarded which leads to lots of same-y trends for songs. There's a few talents who stick out as really putting effort into their music, but the rest are trash.
